.NET 2.0 - I need to display a "promptString" with different characters for specific positions in a MaskedTextBox, rather than just the same character repeated (e.g. HH:MM). May need to use TextBox with RegEx validation instead.
Is there an easier way?

Thanks for responding.
The MaskedTextBox control has the PromptChar property that allows the default "_" or any other single character to be used in a prompt string (based on the contents of the Mask property). All that gets displayed is "__ __". I'd like to see "HH:MM". Or in the case of a LAT/LON entry, "##A ###A".

 If I ever used it I would know that!
Did you consider using a tooltip to present the "HH:MM" string. You could include additional explanatory information as well yes?

In order to write to an excel sheet you can use either excel object model or excel oledb provider. There are many articles available on codeproject and on google.

Hi all,
I’m a C++ developer and a very beginner in both C# (.Net) and Word Programming. What my company wants next is something like this: from different texts to build a Word 2007 document and then open this in the real Word 2007 application to give the user the possibility to change the document as usual with all possibilities (Menüs, Panels, etc.). Well my problem is that the Word 2007 must be embedded in our C# - Application (WinForms).
Knows somebody a solution to do this: embed the Word 2007 application in WinForms or if better maybe in WPF? For any idea thank you in advance.

First of all, please don't post the same question twice.
Second, set the backcolor of your form. Then set the transparent key to the same color. You will also have to set the controlbox property to false, and maybe mess with the FormBorderStyle propery.

I am using the DateTimePicker to get a time from my users. It has a custom format of mm:ss. I have my ShowUpDown set to true.
However, most of the time changes my users will be making will be in the seconds field. The upDown defaults to changing minutes. Is there a way to make the default be seconds?

hi all,
i am facing a problem in windows mdi form application.how can we know a child form is exist or not. in mdi form i have taken toolstripmenuitem.in that click event i was trying to show a child form1 when we click that menu item for that i am using show method.but when click second time the new child form1 is created.i want show that child only once.if its already it must be restored.how can restore the child form1 if its already exists .and how can we if child form is exist or not.

you could do something like the following in your clicked_handler.
it goes through all mdi childforms....if the one you are trying
to open is already opened, it activates the windows and returns.
if it's not found, it creates a new mdi childform.
