hey i am new to VS 2008 and i was trying a simple pointer prgogram and to my dismay i couldnt build it,
#include <stdio.h>
int *pPointer;
void SomeFunction()
{
pPointer = new int;
*pPointer = 25;
}
void main()
{
SomeFunction();
printf("Value of *pPointer: %d\n", *pPointer);
}
the error i got was as follows:
------ Build started: Project: Testin, Configuration: Debug Win32 ------
Embedding manifest...
mt.exe : general error c10100b1: Failed to load file "..\Debug\Testin.exe". The system cannot find the path specified.
Build log was saved at "file://c:\Documents and Settings\Ravi\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\Testin\Testin\Debug\BuildLog.htm"
Testin - 1 error(s), 0 warning(s)
========== Build: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 up-to-date, 0 skipped ========== </stdio.h>
i tried the google way and ended up here:<a href="https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=109735&wa=wsignin1.0">https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=109735&wa=wsignin1.0</a>[<a href="https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=109735&wa=wsignin1.0" target="_blank" title="New Window">^</a>]
which says they are looking over the matter so i am stuck with no clue ...
Thanks in Advance!

1/ read the posting guidelines - it tells you about using the PRE tabs so we can see all your code - some of it is missing now, and it *might* be important.
2/ Try a full rebuild?
3/ Have a look through the project settings - maybe you should change a "..\Debug" to a "Debug" somewhere.
Good luck,
Iain.

At a guess I'd say you've got invalid default project setting for the kind of project ( old standard C style Console App ) that you're trying to create.
First up check whether the compiler actually managed to build your exe, does the Debug build of Testin.exe actually exist anywhere. Then check if it runs outside VS 2008, ie double click on it and see if VS2008 built a bad exe. If all this works fine then it's just the Debugging settings of your project that aren't right, the IDE is looking for it in the wrong place I reckon.
Nothing is exactly what it seems but everything with seems can be unpicked.

I want to use windows InternetOpen() function call. In the documentation it is mentioned as it can be used in "OS Versions: Windows CE 2.0 and later". But i came to know after some search as, it possible to use this function call in windows XP. I have included "Wininet.h" header file also to use this function call. when i compile the program it throws error as "error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __imp__InternetOpenW@20". Help me to get rid of this issue.

Hi people,
I've got an If statement in my code that needs to check the last element of a list. Like follows:
if (Remainder == 1 && TesterIterator != Mersenne.end())
This doesn't work the way I would like because the .end() command takes you to one element past the end of the list :'(. I would like to construct an if statement that would like to go to the last element minus one. This is one that I tried but it didn't work
if (Remainder == 1 && TesterIterator != (Mersenne.end()--))
Does anyone have any ideas? I am very appreciative for all your help in advance.

Signal datatype is not declared with in this scope
|
|
|
|
|
so what shall i do now sir?im kind of blur.
|
|
|
|
|
STEP1: find the declaration of Signal,
STEP2: if found in some header file
STEP3: THEN include it.
STEP4: ELSE ....
I think u need to be familiar with basic concepts. learn C, C++ well.
Ok. could u able to find the declaration of Signal anywhere in source base.

thank you sir.now i can run the code.

I wud lik to call dialog2 from dialog1 using Icons..
but thr s no direct way to click icons in a direct hit
without some additional fuctionality call to someother
dialogs r' controls like buttons..
For Ex: If i ve an icon for Back/Forward/Home icons
in my dialog1, an while clicking the same,
the corresponding operations must be performed
similar to the operations of buttons .
suggestions required..

Have you tried using CBitmapButton ?

Try CBitmapButton, where u have to load 4 images of your own choice(they can be icon images).

For each button, create an handler (ON_BN_CLICKED) and do what is to be done in those handlers.
if it's calling a dialog, create the dialog and do a DoModal (or Create/ShowWindow for modeless).
if it's something else, just do it.

Hi friends,
I want to make show the notification as like outlook email notification. I downloaded code form http://www.codeproject.com/KB/dialog/taskbarnotifier.aspx and i customized it. The downloaded code shows notification window on click (button)even but i want to implement it with thread and some code would be there to get string message from some where and if message is not null show the notification window with string message. I am unable to customize it as per my requirement. I request to all of you please help me. Thanks in advance.

ALL? That's a really bad idea...
Your question could mean two different things.
a/ I just want to change the tooltip when a user hovers the mouse over my icon.
b/ Something has happened, and I want to tell the user about it, by popping up the tooltip right now. Like plugging in a network cable, etc.
(a) is easy, (b) isn't hard - but it took a bit of digging.
To create the notification icon, you'll need to fill in a NOTIFYICONDATA structure. I keep a copy of it as a member variable.
m_Nid.cbSize = sizeof (NOTIFYICONDATA);
m_Nid.hWnd = GetSafeHwnd ();
m_Nid.uFlags = NIF_ICON|NIF_MESSAGE|NIF_TIP;
m_Nid.hIcon = m_hTrayIcon;
lstrcpy (m_Nid.szTip, _T("Iain's IP changer"));
Shell_NotifyIcon (NIM_ADD, (NOTIFYICONDATA *)&m_Nid);
To change the tooltip, you can use NIM_MODIFY:
m_Nid.uFlags = NIF_TIP;
lstrcpy (m_Nid.szTip, _T("New message"));
Shell_NotifyIcon (NIM_MODIFY, (NOTIFYICONDATA *)&m_Nid);
And to make balloon tip box...
m_Nid.uFlags = NIF_INFO;
m_Nid.uTimeout = 4000;
m_Nid.dwInfoFlags = NIIF_INFO;
lstrcpy(m_Nid.szInfo, _T("Some text"));
lstrcpy(m_Nid.szInfoTitle, _T("A Title"));
Shell_NotifyIcon (NIM_MODIFY, (NOTIFYICONDATA *)&m_Nid);
This is code trimmed from a working application. I *may* have missed something out, in which case reading up on NOTIFYICONDATA will help you a lot. Also, the balloon tooltip will only work with later shell versions.
Good luck,
Iain.
