U can use css in Your VS2003,
It will save all this session problems that curruntly u have so it will be better to Include Css in Project itself.
And yes what u say
"external style sheets, since updating them would make my life easier"
While running the project u don't need to restart it again if u make changes in css.
So it is not the case while codding in Code behind file.

Hi,
What is the difference between the Security Application Block and the ASP.NET Membership Provider? I normally use the ASP.NET Membership Provider to handle my logins, but where and how does the Security Application Block fit in?
I hope some can advise?
Thanks

I have an HTML table rendered by a Repeater control on a UserList page. It displays a list of Users, and to the right of each user, a delete and an edit image button. I have JavaScript that executes on the page load, that binds event handlers to the onblur event of each cell in each table row. The event handler posts an Ajax request to the server, so any updates the user makes are almost instantly persisted to the DB.
Only selected, frequently used, User fields are displayed in the table for the 'in-place' editing described above. To edit other fields, the user clicks the Edit button at the right of a User row, and another, UserDetails page opens in a pop-up, which the user closes by clicking Cancel or Save after any editing of the User details.
I now need to modify the UserList page so that when the user clicks the Edit icon, a User Details edit area becomes visible still on the UserList page, i.e. an invisible/collapsed area for user details expands/becomes visible when Edit is clicked, then collapses/becomes invisible again when Save or Cancel is clicked.
How could I best achieve this?

I think u need a table Which is has a Button or kinda Icon.. While Clicking on that Icon Ur that Html Table should Be Close and Again Clicking on that Icon It should again Expand?
Is it something that u want or anything else?

Yes, that is what I described as needed, but I'm asking how best to do it.

Hi
This can be achieved with the help of some CSS and ofcourse A Javascript.
U can Take Two Tables.
For Instance One for Storing An Icon[Image] and it will hold the Title for ur table, On which you are going to click[This table has hight approximatly 22px and we can use a div tag for firing a javascrip here and an Image which] and Second table which is going to lied Exactly beneath the Upper table,
And this table is made for Expand/Collapsible and all the controls and other things are going to put in this table.
i think this will be better...
any doubt.....

Is it MUST condition? -> 01/01/2008.?
The thing is same if u enter 1/1/2008.. This is also feasible? What u say?
I m thinking for ur 01/01/2008 problem?
calender is suppose to show only that,
For that Problem i have to go across the huge jscript code. Let me try for that,
Don't forget to give reply.

please help me.

Your question is incomplete ..
Why you don't want to use updatepanel ?
Do you need to update the page from server side ?
Thanks and Regards

Hi,
I am stuck I cant find a simple example of Using Windows Forms Controls in Internet Explorer written in VB.net 2.0,
i want to build a bulk emailer that will run in a web-browser on the client side that will get the email addresses and email message to send from the previous asp.net webpage, like an activex control but cant find anything in wriiten vb.net and all the C# things I have found are overly complicated and dont covert to vb too well.
Anyone who could point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated I have spent 2 days searching the net and cant find anything of any use.
Thanks i advance

Odds are they are as complex as they need to be. 100% you can convert them to VB and they will work fine.
To use windows forms controls, you need to write a browser plug in, you can't just add them to a web form like you do a web control. And it will mean your users will need to have .NET installed.

Thanks for the reply,
you said : "you need to write a browser plug in", this is completely new tech to me I am used to writing iether a standalone app or a asp.net webpage, not mixing the two and dont know where to start, i just tried writin a user conotrl, compling and then added this <object width="430" height="352" classid="OCTBulkMailer.dll#UserControl"></object> but all I get a a blank looking image place holder, LOL I know I must sound a bit like a retard but its like showing me a car and handing me the keys but I dont know what a car is or what it does.

To be honest, I've never written a control to be consumed by .NET, because it's a little user hostile, IMO.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/02/01/UserCtrl/[^] looks like what you need.

I have a related question. I am sure VB 6 has ActiveX Control support. But my generic queries are:
1) Compared to developing in VC++ or MFC, wouldn't this mean by dependency on VB Components. I have a weak doubt that controls made out VB need VB Runtime Library or something like that (Pardon me for my bad memory that I could not recall)
2) Wouldn't there be any pitfalls having a control engineering out of VB compared to a control from MFC?

well my understanding is that ActiveX has been discontiued in .net and using windows forms controls is supposed to be the way to do it, but if I am going to run into problems with running on non windows system this will not be good, so anybody who know please give your input last thing I want to do is build this thing and it doesnt work accross the bourd, what about using the .net framework on the server to run the app on non windows systems?
