What you do depends on the reporting solution you're using. If all it will take is a DataSet object, your kind of pigeon-holed into what you can use. If it takes objects deriving from some other root class or must implement some interface, then you've got options.
But, a quick workaround would be to add code to your class that takes the data in the object and creates a DataSet or DataTable object from it and returns that to the caller.

You can use a time or a background process or can just have a pooling and time comparison and then fire a function by which u open other applications
Use the path as
\\<ip>\<shared folder=""> \ File

Are you asking how to launch a PowerPoint presentation on one machine from code running on another??
Sorry, you can't do that. Launching an interactive process remotely is expressly forbidden because of security risks.
You can, however, have an application running on the client machine that will accept a command from another app running on the server side. The command would tell the client app to launch the presentation, locally to the client of course.

Sorry for the double post, Please help!
I cannot Access HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion (64-bit)
because of registry virutalization of x64...
How can access this using Vb.NET?
My.Computer.Registry.SetValue("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion", "RegisteredOwner", TxtOwner.Text)
It will be redirected to Wow6432... Any ideas? Please post the code...

Sorry, I was too busy having a life to answer over the weekend.
What's the exception message you're getting??
Please keep in mind that this in no way guarantee's an answer. I've never had the opportinuity to play around with 64-bit Windows.

there is no exception...how can I disable and enable registry redirection
of x64? because it automatically re-direct to another path "Wow6432"
instead of the path above.

Hello everyone and thanks for looking, my group and I have been working on a project at school for our senior project and we have run into a little snag.
We have a program in VB.net designed to connect using USB communication to a development board to interface with a microcontroller, the program is successful and we have only one last problem to solve.
When the program first starts up we would like it to automatically run a command within the program, specifically this button:
Private Sub cmdConnect_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles cmdConnect.Click
OpenMPUSBDevice()
If myOutPipe <> INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE Then
Timer1.Enabled = True
End If
End Sub
Basically what we would like to happen is that once the program is first run this button "auto-clicks" itself to automatically connect through USB to our development board then could be used later for reconnect if possible. We tried to encapsulate it into a simple while loop but the button needs to be clicked prior to entering.
I tried implementing something like this:
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
cmdConnect.PerformClick()
End Sub
But ended up receiving this error:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Development Environment
An unhandled exception of type 'System.Security.SecurityException' occured in USBAuto.exe
Additional information: System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Where in the program the command: OpenMPUSBDevice() was highlighted
I’m sorry if I’m asking a really easy/hard question as programming is not my specialty, hardware person myself, any help would be greatly appreciated,
-Prower

Thank you so much I just assembled the program and it seems to be working
Can I make use of this command on a check box as well? And just alter the syntax to that of a check box?
Such as:
Call cbIO1High_CheckedChanged(cbIO1High, New System.EventArgs)
So that on load the check box is high the use a delay for say a second then un-check the box? And I know I can just go under properties and just set it to be checked I am just wondering if it is possible for a checked box to be un-checked on start up then checked for a second or so then set back to un-checked
Thanks again

Better yet, refactor out the code in this Click handler to its own method. Then you can call it from both the Click handler and your other startup code without bothering with PerformClick.

The documentation[^] explains how to use the DataGrid control for CRUD operations. I suggest you read it and only post again if you have more specific questions.

Hi everydbody,
I'm developing a VB.NET 2003 application and I need to include in my layout a table that I can dynamically set row/col spanning to, like in the HTML tables. I've taken a look to the datagrid control, but it obviously doesn't have those properties. So, what I need is somebody who can give me a hint on how to program this, or if somebody knows of a control developed by someone on the web that has this functiontality please, provide a link.
I've thought, for the developing option, that maybe a panel based table could help me out achieving this, but yet I'm not sure. So, I'm open to any ideas.
Thanks in advance,
Kenia

Does anyone know of any good examples NOT in C# that takes you through the entire process of saving an image to the database. On my form I have an openfiledialog and a picture box. When an image is selected from the openfiledialog the images is opened in the picture box. If you do not know of any good examples or tutorials but know how to do it, please give me a somewhat detailed example or description. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!! I have been going in circles all week trying to learn this... Thanks!!!

If you have found examples in C#, use a code converter to convert the code to VB.NET.
ALternatively, learn C#. Then you'll understand the examples, no matter what language they're written in.

I have a form with a databound combobox. When the form is instructed to close, for some reason, the selectedindexchanged event decides to fire, which causes some undesirable results. There is nothing in the close event handler except a call to show the owner of the form being closed.
What can I do to stop this event from processing, or at least prevent the code in the event from running on form close?

Could it be the combobox clears its items just before the form closes? Possibly as part of the disposing process?
