I believe that it requires a minimum of .NET 2, although as you can get a free download of .NET runtimes this shouldn't be an issue.

I m feeling very bad for the framework 1.1 people.The new thing that they have develop should support the previous versions also, something like backward compatible.
The book that u have mention is in form of BOOK or it is E-Book?
If there is a soft copy(e-book) of that book then it would be better.

Don't feel bad about that. If we are on the way of Microsoft, we have to speed up...
but I know that technology is going so fast but we, the developers, can't throw away the existing system that we developed with old technology. Yesterday, my manager told me to implement new functionalities to the existing VB6 project. As I've been using VS 2005 and VS 2008 so much lately, VB6 IDE is not my taste but however, I have to do it and I'm writing the VB6 code right now.
I think that this is the nature of software development. Let me tell you one thing that I used to do. I worked for what the company ask me to do. Whenever I have free time, I try to learn as much as I can. I try to participate in CP or Silverlight forum[^].

Sometimes, it's not possible. If you are a developer, you know about that.

You can get both (hard-copy or soft-copy).. The one that I bought is soft-copy and it's pretty cheap.. but UX team will be release Silverlight 2.0 beta next month. So, it is better if you buy Silverlight 2.0 book. You better wait for a while..

No , I have never use the XNA Framework 
But, I have just little info about it. Have you check out the link I have given?
The XNA Framework is for Managed Code Development and runs on the Common Language Runtime(aka CLR) which prevents a programmer from using unmanaged languages (C++) from using the XNA Framework. It supports only C#.

Most likely no. Microsoft uses that as a why to get people to use their technology. Porting to products that are not yours is hard to do anyway. But FireFox and other open sources eventually get the functionality that they want, may just take a while.

Hi there,
i wonder if there is a workaround to combine several brushes?
i want to set the background of a small custom control and
i need two different gradientbrushes (linear and radial).
overlaying e.g. two canvas and setting their opacity to smthg. like 0.5 is no option for me.
i´d be glad for any idea
