Since you code flash at OO it could well be called high level but it has a crap IDE etc for coding.

Hi!
I have a question about the 'update of a article'.
I tried to update the article (DirectShow MediaPlayer in C#), because I changed some code and design.
So, as I updated the images the old images are not removed and the article included the old images (that looks not very nice).
Does it need some time that the server update the files?
It was perhaps a little early and I deleted the article and posted it new .
So after that I made some changes in the code and tried to update the zip-file.
After I reload the side and tried to download the zip-files I saw that there are the old zip-files.
How can I update the zip-files, or does it only need a little bit more timer?
I posted my article with the Wizard!

I've seen that happen where the old images were still cached by IE. Hit Ctrl+F5 (assuming you are using IE  ) to force a refresh of the whole page and all should be well.

I'd like to see a discussion or guidelines on how articles are categorized by the editors. For example, I've submitted two articles on property sheets for WTL. One landed in Controls and the other landed in General. Another of my articles on OLE DB for WTL ended up in Applications instead of Data Access (or Database). Also, how are articles selected for the "Latest Tutorials" tab on the home page? One of my articles that I didn't consider a tutorial ended up there while another that I did didn't.

Some of the articles were a little out of whack. I've reclassified them.
It should all be intuitive but sometimes things slip.

I would like to see CP implement portal areas for those folks that submit good numbers high quality articles.
Once a poster gets so many articles submitted of a specific rating they could have an area that is dedicated to them, with links to all their articles, and a message area just so people can discuss their code.

We've currently got a page for every author which has all that bar the discussion board. I've been thinking about a board for a while but would it be useful or would it be an annoyance to the author?

I think you should stick with what you have. A discussion section for each article is good. I for one would find it annoying having my own discussion board. If people need to contact the author directly, they can do that quite easily also.

I agree with Roger - most all comments belong in the article forums. Probably if there were forums attached to each bio, they'd be a boring mix of fanboy comments ("Chris is the bestest author ever! I'm naming all my children and pets 'Maunder'!") and people trying to pick fights based on flip comments made in the bio.

I originally thought a forum for each author would be nice, but thinking about it again now that I have a full-time job plus a project on the side, I realize I wouldn't have time to moderate it.
The best use IMO for such forums would be to ask questions about an article (such as one I get a lot, "how do I make the extension in article abc do xyz?"). That's about the only thing that should be posted, but I know how the net is and you'd get flames, general programming questions, and so on, all of which belong elsewhere. It'd be up to me to moderate the forum and remove all that stuff, but I know myself and I just wouldn't do it. It would likely take up a lot of my time, and wouldn't be in the least bit interesting or fun.

How about giving the authors the right to disable it, and if not too difficult to moderate that particular board.

Currently experimenting with Mozilla, which incidentally I'm impressed with) and was amazed to see it supported the DHTML thread view on CP. My only reason for moving from NS6 to IE!
However occaisionnaly CP seems to loose my DHTML choice and present me the suggestion I use IE4.0 or Mozilla?
Are there any problems with the browser detection?

I've noticed that as well, it seems to be intermittent.
