Is this homework, or a rentacoder assignment ?
If you have a datagrid, and you want to show a single label with a value, then you look up the value in the correct row and column of the table that contains it, and put it in the label, using the label's text property.
What if the enddate was yesterday ?

OK - so you don't have a label, you have a datagrid and want to show records in a specific date range ? Then you query your data source for the records that match your criteria, and bind them to your grid.

Of course not. I'm sorry, but you're obviously very, very lost. How on earth can I tell you the SQL to make a call on a database when I don't know what your data source is, let alone your database schema ? If you're being paid for this work, the only honest thing to do, is to decline to work any further, you're obviously not skilled enough to do it. If it's a course, tell your teacher that you're struggling and ask for help. Seriously.
If you're using SQL Server, getdate() will return the current date/time. That's really all the help I can hope to offer based on the information you have given.

Gee - I haven't seen THAT before...
Perhaps if it was really urgent, you'd post somethign that we could follow. What problem are you facing ? Were are you adding this font ? What attributes are you expecting not to change ?
If a font is installed, you can store the name and other properties in whatever medium you like ( such as a database, XML, or just hard coded ), and the program will re-create the font for you. I assume this font has the barcode elements in it ?

I'm glad you solved your problem ( not sure that I helped, b/c I really didn't understand exactly what the problem was ), but really, a good proportion of people post that their question is urgent, and the help you get here is free. You'll get help when someone decides to help you. People who are being paid will drop things they'd rather do, in order to get something done.

Well this is a very dumb question..
I have a windows form and a label..
Now during the execution of the program, the text that goes into the label is of more length than the form allows, so it hangs..
How to make a label multiline, so that it shows up in the next line in the form??

Hello,
You need to make sure that you’ve got new line characters in the string as shown below:
this.label1.Text = "Multi-line" + Environment.NewLine + "label";

My problem is as follows. The program works by creating new dataTable from a schema that the user has specified. once the person creates the table they fill it out, and hit the save command. The dataset is then saved to the sample object and serialized for later use. The problem occurs after the file is reloaded to edit. The previous data saved correctly and is displated on the datagrid. However if i change the data and then hit the save command again, it does not appear to save. Upon closing and reopening of the file, the dataSet looks as the origonal. Please help me. thanks,
public Sample sample;
public void sampleToEdit( Sample s, string path )
{
dataGrid1.DataSource = s.sampleData;
dataGrid1.DataMember = "sample";
sample = s;
}
private void saveCmd_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
if ( isNewSample )
{
// this code runs when sample is created
Container sampleContainer = getContainer( templateDir + "sampleContainer.dat" );
string filename = sampleDir + uniqueCode + ".smp";
sampleContainer.container.Add(filename);
setContainer(sampleContainer, templateDir + "sampleContainer.dat" );
sample.sampleData = dataGrid1.DataSource as DataSet;
storeSample( sample, filename );
}
else
{
// this code runs when someone opens table to edit
string filename = sampleDir + uniqueCode + ".smp";
sample.sampleData = dataGrid1.DataSource as DataSet;
sample.sampleData.AcceptChanges();
storeSample( sample, filename );
}
}

And, what happens when you step through it in the debugger ?

The variable "filename" is a concatenated result of 3 items. In that what is the value of "uniqueCode" ?. Is it gives the same value in two cases?
What I want to know is whether you are specifying the same filename?

Hi,
I'm looking for a way for my C# app to determine at runtime whether it is running on a 32 bit or a 64 bit system, but haven't found anything so far. Does anyone know?
The reason I'm looking for this is that my app is very memory intensive and will use as much memory as it can. I've figured out how to check how much memory the system has, but on a 32 bit system an app can't go over the 2 gig per-process limit. Therefore, after determining the total physical memory, I would like my app to notice if it's on a 32 bit system and therefore know that it must limit how much memory it uses, even if a large amount of memory is reported. On a 64 bit system it will know it can use as much as it wants.
Thanks in advance for any help!

IMO if your app needs 2GB or more of memory you need to consider a different design.
only two letters away from being an asset
|
|
|
|
|
My app works on large pieces of data. It can have more or less loaded into memory at once, but will function more quickly the more that it can keep loaded at once. That is why I'm looking for a way to determine how much memory can be used.

Hello,
Perform an IntPtr.Size (static method). IntPtr is designed to be an integer whose size is platform specific, it will be 8 if you are on a 64-bit machine and 4 if you are on a 32-bit machine.

You can also do this using WMI. See this[^] MSDN link and the Win32_Processor example on this[^] page.
