Hi,
I have a Datatable which has a couple of Columns with "Expression" property set.
I have set that Datatable as a DataSource to a DataGridview. Now when I am trying to set a value into one of the column for all the Rows in a loop, it is not calulating the values as set in "Expression" on a single row.
if there are 10 rows then for 9 rows it shows correct value but 1 row it doesn't calulate at all
I checked the loop index but everything is fine.
I am also doing some custom calculations on the "CellValueChangedEvent". Is this because of the event handled separately ??
Can anyone help me on this ? please
thanks in advance

I don't know why I am having so much trouble with this. It is only a simple insert into a database. Can someone help me with this. I am so frustrated and the answer is probably staring me in the face.
I want to get the current date in my VB.net desktop program. I then want to insert the date along with an ID and the location. I have tried doing this a number of different ways. But it is not formatting the date correct in the database.
Breakdown:
Code:
Dim shipTo As String = "Test"<br />
Dim dateInv As Date<br />
Dim ID As String = "11111"<br />
Dim command As New OleDbCommand<br />
dateInv = Today<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
command.CommandText = "Insert INTO [Physical_Inventory] VALUES(" + shipTo + ", " + ID + "," + dateInv.toShortDate() + ")"<br />
command.Connection = connection<br />
<br />
command.Parameters.Add("ShipTo", OleDbType.VarChar, 20, shipTo)<br />
command.Parameters.Add("ID", OleDbType.VarChar, 20, ID)<br />
command.Parameters.Add("DateInv", OleDbType.DBDate, 20, dateInv.toShortDate)<br />
<br />
<br />
command.Parameters("ShipTo").Value = shipTo<br />
command.Parameters("ID").Value = ID<br />
command.Parameters("DateInv").Value = dateInv<br />
<br />
connection.Open()<br />
command.ExecuteNonQuery()<br />
connection.Close()
I am trying to update a Access Database and I get 12/30/1899 in the date field.
Can someone help me.

Always remember while you are doing perform any operation on Date field with access database always use DateValue() function.
Either Insertion or Updation or Fetching data.
If still your problem persist then let me know.

Do I put the DateValue() in Access? I already have the date in my code. I am trying to send it to Access. How can I do that?
Never mind, found the problem. I needed single quotes on each end of my date variable in my sql statement. Thank you for your help.

Put the DateValue() function in your SQL Statement.
This might be create a proble while fetching the records in search criteria on Date field.

are you doing these around the filling of the grid?
grdNotes.SuspendLayout()

sr.BaseStream.Position

You mean I should do this.
sr.BaseStream.position=10;
//where 10 is line No
or something else.
This is my procedure.
using (StreamReader sr = new StreamReader("C:\\Windows\\System32\\Logfiles\\ex080312.log"))
{
String line;
string [] fieldcontent = null;
while ((line = sr.ReadLine()) != null)
{
Response.Write("<br>"+ line);
}
}

So for each line you read, store the position.

|
Yes I m storing the Line no with each Line. but I want that when I again read this file it should start from where It left.e.g line 10. explain more.
|
|
|
|
|
Just store the StreamReader.Position at the same place you're storing the line number, and when you want to read again just set StreamReader.Position = storedposition and you should be able to read the same line again.

How can i block specific URLs using vb.Net.
I do not consider editing the hosts file. Any other way?
Please answer me..
|
|
|
|
|
What do you mean by BLOCKING URL? Do you mean for a computer or something else???
- Stop thinking in terms of limitations and start thinking in terms of possibilities -

If you created a browser function into your program, you can keep up a black list whereto you will validate first the url which the user has given before you go on with it.
Is this what you are looking for?

What's the exact problem?

hi Man
Thanks for your Reply, i got the Problem
The Property "AcceptsReturn", by default is False, to use Enter key in a Multiline textbox, you have to set it to "true"
Thanks
