Strange ! This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".. Are you able to see the above in your error message ?

You may try running the application form local host. This will give you the exact error and the stach trace.
Thanks

The fact that so many people ask this question here is the reason I wrote this[^].

Hey People how are you?
I've got an ASP.NET (Built in VB.NET) web system and I need to talk to a program called IBM MQ. IBM MQ is sort of like BizTalk but I've been unable to find anyone that has been able to find out how to talk to MQ directly. To talk to MQ in general you can do it through the DOS Command Prompt by typing in commands and that works really well.
My problem is that I don't know how to get my VB.NET web system to talk to Command Prompt and pass it arguments that I'll use to talk to MQ.
If anyone has any code for opening and passing arguments into a command prompt that would be very much appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance.

Write a .bat file which contains all your command to be executed. Use Process.Start() to execute this .bat file. But doing this through ASP.NET doesn't make any sense, also bat file will be executing on server, not client machine.

Hi, i'm trying to save preset images of type jpeg in a SQL table. My code below
will be executed within a method every time i add a picture in the table.
The table is called ITEM and the column with the type image is called item_picture.
And the application root is ~/images/ where i have stored all the images.
try
{
byte[] image = new byte[4];
string qry = "insert into ITEM(item_picture) values(@OriginalPath)";
command = new SqlCommand(qry,connection);
command.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@OriginalPath","~/images/app1.jpg"));
}
finally
{
connection.Open();
command.ExecuteNonQuery();
connection.Close();
}
I get the following error:
Operand type clash: nvarchar is incompatible with image
How can i get this right?
Thanks!

Your SQL parameter should be of type SqlDbType.Image

yes but, where should i include the path of the image?
|
|
|
|

If you're uploading the image to the database, why do you need the path?
only two letters away from being an asset
|
|
|
|
|
i need the images contained in a relative folder to be all uploaded
in the database to be used later in my application. I will not use
an upload tool to be used manually from the user so there has to be
a path!

Ok, so you didn't understand. If the images are in your database and your application will use those images, you don't need a path. The path is irrelevant, the image is stored in the database. If, however, you need to the image to be at the path, then you don't need to store the image in the database, only the path.
only two letters away from being an asset

The images are not in the database yet. They are stored in the path mentioned, so far,
and i'm trying to figure out a way to store them in the database. The code i posted
in my first post does not work and i couldn't debug it. I'm looking for the appropriate
corrections to make on my code so that my application will store the images in the database
or write new code from scratch if there is a better way to do this.
Thanks!

Hi!
I have used Editable Gridview control in which I have put Add category button,On the above of control
The first column of grid view is primary key ProductId and sec. is productname. On the Product name I have replace Hyperlink in place of bound contol. so on the click i can navigate on some other page the problem is that when I click on add button the Hyperlink can not change in the bound control so i cant got the Textbox and so its give the following error.
"Unable to cast object of type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.HyperLink' to type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.TextBox'."
<br />
<br />
if (((LinkButton)GridView1.Rows[0].Cells[2].Controls[0]).Text == "Insert")<br />
{<br />
SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["MYConnectionString"].ConnectionString);<br />
SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand();<br />
cmd.CommandText = "INSERT INTO Products(cat_name) VALUES(@cat_name)";<br />
cmd.Parameters.Add("@cat_name", SqlDbType.VarChar).Value = ((TextBox)GridView1.Rows[0].Cells[1].Controls[0]).Text;<br />
cmd.Connection = con;<br />
con.Open();<br />
cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();<br />
con.Close();<br />
}<br />

The error message tells you all you need to know. GridView1.Rows[0].Cells[1].Controls[0] is a HyperLink, not a TextBox control.

Except for not using inline SQL statements
only two letters away from being an asset

But I want to put textbox run time when I click on add category button so the entire new row comes up in the grid and the cells automatically convert into textbox control after filling up controls when i click insertlabel from one the cell.and then it will automatically again convert in the hyperlink rather then a normal text....

I have absolutely no idea what you are asking
only two letters away from being an asset
