I would suggest that you read the items that I linked for you, as they both provide examples for their respective servers. If those examples are not to your liking, my recommendation would be to visit the website for the server that you chose and peruse the documentation found there.

Here are a couple of resources to help you get started:
- Google[^] search for ".NET Globalization".
- Microsoft's landing page[^] for ASP.NET localization
- Thang Tran's article[^] on satellite assemblies here at CodeProject
Good luck!

Does the application name match with what is in the database table? I'd check there first. If you are trying to login with a user that was created with a different application name then you won't be able to login. You'll have to change the value in your config file.

I am using crystal reports to display reports for my application. I want to print a report for which I am exporting it to a PDF export. On production server I see report being displayed correctly but when I export it to a PDF format, it displays a blank page. It is exported fine on my local machine which has a higher version of acrobat. But the production server has acrobat 5.1. Could it be because of the acrobat version?
Thanks

Sounds reasonable to me. Good job. Keep in mind though that the primary use of these forums is for asking questions, not reporting status. For more details read the first message in the forum titled "How to get an answer to your question".

So here is my delima. I have an internal web application running on Server A. This application needs to run a .exe file on Server B when a button is pressed on the app.
To give a little backround, the web app allows the user to correct failed data that will be sent to our EDI application for Export. The .exe file will run the "scheduled job" in our EDI app on demand. I don't want to let the clueless have access to my server and EDI applications where they could do all kinds of damage that I have not even imagined.

This is not possible with ASP.NET. You can use Process.Start() to run the application in same server, but running it on another server is not possible. I'd suggest you to use a windows service in the server B which uses the same database which webapplication uses.

In order for this to be possible, the executable would have to be in an area of server B that was exposed to server A, and the user of the web application would need to have execute rights on the executable itself. The simplest way to accomplish this is by sharing the directory and granting rights to "everyone". This, of course, is poor security practice and I'd recommend considering some alternate approaches.
To allow this in a more secure way, you could consider having code in the web application impersonate a trusted user on server B, and invoke the executable in that context. This would still require that the executable be exposed to the impersonated user with execute rights granted. If you choose to explore this route, keep in mind that impersonation does have some security liability itself, if not done properly. I'd recommend doing taking a peak at this article[^] by Microsoft's Shawn Farkas and at the Microsoft guidelines[^] for impersonation.
The approach that I'd recommend is enabling your EDI process as a proper service offering. To do so, you could consider hosting a service (such as a web service, or remoting endpoint) on server B which would run under the context of a local user with execute rights. The service would then hold responsibility for invoking the executable on demand. By doing providing the service interface, you can more finely control access by applying standard security techniques [for your implementation type] on the service interface itself.
Hope that helps to get you started.

something like this
public void populate_lokup(string lokup, DropDownList dd)
{
SqlConnection sqlConn = connection.connect();
sqlConn.Open();
SqlCommand sqlcommand = new SqlCommand("as_LokUp", sqlConn);
sqlcommand.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
SqlParameter pLokupCode = sqlLokup.Parameters.Add("@lokupcode",
SqlDbType.NVarChar, 20);
pLokupCode.Value = lokup;
SqlDataAdapter daLokup = new SqlDataAdapter();
daLokup.SelectCommand = sqlLokup;
DataSet dsLokup = new DataSet();
daLokup.Fill(dsLokup);
DataTable dtLokup = dsLokup.Tables["table"];
sqlConn.Close();
if (dtLokup.Rows.Count > 0)
{
dd.DataSource = dtLokup;
dd.DataTextField = dtLokup.Columns["columnname"].ToString().Trim();
dd.DataValueField = dtLokup.Columns["columnname2"].ToString().Trim();
dd.DataBind();
dd.Items.Insert(0, "Please Select...");
dd.Items[0].Value = "00";
}
}

Handle datagrid's ItemDatabound event. Use FindControl() to find the dropdownlist. Fetch values from database and bind to the dropdownlist.
