Ordinary DLLs don't need registration. On the other hand COM DLLs (e.g. ActiveX components) need it (technically is even possible using COM DLL's without registration, neverthless registration is by far the most common way).

Why (usually it isn't a good idea)?

Hi Experts,

I am using CMainFrame::OnClose(); function in any other function to close the application as soon as processing gets complete.

Program generating exception after closed. If I manually close the aplication Its fine.

Is this correct methos to close the application like this....

Closing the application from inside a function is not common way.

If you want to do this necessarily how about PostQuitMessage[^] or exit(0);

If your application is related to OLE then you can use COleDocument class to get Doc/View architecture support of MFC.

Changing static IP address programatically

I need to change the static IP address of a machine programatically.I tried to change the IP at Registry location , HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces. But this change is taking effect only after restart of the computer. Is there any method to change IP without restart of the computer ? I tried AddIpAddress() function it shows some problem in version compatibility. I am using Visual C++ 6.0.

When I try to include "iphlpapi.h" it shows some error inside visual C++, not in my program.It says some stucture inside iphlpapi.h is undefined.

I am trying to upload one directory to the perticular server

I have written the code as

This code works for only one file and fails for second.
