Read this[^]. It's urgent too
harithadotnet wrote: i want to update all records date as dd/mm/yy format
I guess it's a presentation issue. Let SQL server stores date in it's own format, you convert the format using CONVERT function when selecting. Read this[^] to get an idea.

i think you should increase your RAM.

C# does not do anything optimised to load imags. Multiple your width x height x 3 and you have the minimum number of bytes needed to load an image. No way around that without seeking out some sort of third part tiling library

A possible way to load large images would be to convert the file to a BMP or similar, strip out the header, and then use a FileStream to read a block of bytes (you'll need the width of the image, which you can get from the header). Then you'd have to turn your bytes into a bitmap. In a windows bitmap, there should be three bytes per pixel, and in the order BGR.
Of course, there are a few problems i see. It will probably be quite slow, rather difficult, you'd have to be able to convert the whole image on the fly before using it, again, thats gonna suck up some time, especially with such HUGE images.

Hey guys,
ive been developing a pretty involved software package for the time and attendance industry, now the boss wants this application web based(ASP)...
Is it posible to convert my currenct project to run as an asp website or do you think we should hire an asp.net programmer to rewrite the front end for asp?
the problem i have with rewriting for asp aswell is that now im sitting with two of the same programs on two different platforms that needs to be maintained... id bet thats going to be a major head ache!
thanx

i m afraid but u have to implement it again in asp.net
and it will be easy if u implement your application as a multi tier application

AS someone else said,if you developed the first app properly, all you should need to do, is write your presentation layer and use the same middle/data tier. But, web sites being stateless, it's never as easy as all that, you basically need to re-engineer your middle tier so that it plays nice in a stateless environment, and write a front end. There's plainly no automatic way to do this

thanx Christian...
i didnt think it would be that simple, but it doesnt hurt to ask!
my application is broken up into 4 tiers(i think) as you call it... Theres a front end(the part the end user will work with), server service (this is mainly for all the instances of the applications to be able to talk to eachother), communications service(this service gets data from external bio metric scanners) and a SQL database.
so ONLY the front end will need to be rewritten for asp... right?
now a different question, im still in the process of developing this entire system... do you think i should get the asp developer now to start off with the web based front end OR wait until there is a release able version of the winForms version before kicking off the asp version?
thanx

Most people will say 'yes' but the truth is, odds are good your client side app relies on keeping objects in memory, which won't work in ASP.NET, so you will probably have to retool some mddle tier stuff as well.

I would get him started now, so he can guide the development of the middle tier, if it's still evolving, to suit him better, or if it's finished, he may as well get started, so that the changes he has to make to the middle tier can be worked to also fit with the winforms app, prior to release.

Hi
I have a form with 3 list controls. i have filled all the controls using the same dataset. when i try to select a first item in the first list box, the corresponding first item in the 2nd and 3rd list box controls getting selected. Why i'm getting this issue?

Because they all have the same data source. Use the Clone method on your data source to make copies, and then when each control has it's own copy, the problem will go away.
