In c# (or vb) I want to create a wpf application, a window with a canvas and a button. When the user clicks the button, a rectangle is showed on the canvas. If the user clicks on the rectangle, the user can perfom drag and drop actions with the rectangle over the canvas.
¿Somebody can give me ideas or links?
Thanks.

Good People,
Expression Blend is not opening my Visual Studio 2008 WPF Application. I just bought Expression Blend about a month ago and Visual Studio 2008 a month before that purchase. Any ideas? I am really behind the 8-ball on this project.
Thanks in advance.

What version of Blend did you get? Probably Blend 1.0, right?
If you purchased Blend a month ago, you should be entitled to the latest public release which is Blend 2.
After getting Blend 2, removed all previous versions of Blend, install the Blend 2 and you will be good to go.

And, if you are using Blend 1, rejoice at all the yummy bits you get when you have installed Blend 2. I liked Blend 1 - I love Blend 2. I have high hopes for 2.5.

I'm not sure if this helps, but I'll throw it out there:
If you're using Expression Blend version 1, there's a service pack[^] that fixes the
VS 2008 project compatibility problem.

Hi All,
I'm just wanting to get a bit of info about other people's use of this class. I have an instance of an Infragistics WPF Grid in my UI holding a list of audio files. When a user clicks on an entry my app plays the audio file.
The problem I'm seeing is that when the audio starts and the I move the mouse onto another item in the grid audio playback stops. I'm presuming that this is because the player is in the main UI Thread. I just wanted to know if anyone else has seen anything similar. If so I guess the workaround is to have the player operating in its own thread. Just wanted to check this thinking before I go off coding this into the application.
Any info would be great.
Cheers,
Jammer

Probably has to do with the Selection Changed Event code.
Josh Smith has a super article on Podder, that make use of the media control.

No, but, we wrapped a C# WMP control because the WPF one was so slow as to be useless.

Hi Christian,
Is there any info anywhere on what you did? Did you wrap the ActiveX WMP control?
Cheers,

We just created a dll with a C# control that contained te windows media player control, and then a WPF control that contained that control.

How can I make a silverlight application communicate with an MFC application? Should I simply use sockets or is there a way that an MFC application can act as a webservice? Or anything else?
Thanks in advance!

Silverlight beta 2 supports WS-I Basic Profile 1.1 and socket.

I don't have that much idea MFC. You may need to ask about that in MFC forum.. From Silverlight point of view, if you wanna use web service, you need to follow WS-I Basic Profile 1.1. (ASMX, WCF service works pretty well with Silverlight. )

Thanks for your reply... much appreciated!
I amm now thinking of instanciating a COM object in the instance object of a Web Service... and use that as the channel of communication... Do you think this could work? any caveats?

You may be able to instantiate the COM object in webservice but you won't be able to do that in Silverlight. If you are talking about socket, please check-out this post. a>[^]
IMHO, Silverlight 2 beta1 has a lot of issue for networking things. If you are just using ASMX web service or WCF, I'm sure it will be working fine. Otherwise, I'm not so sure about that.
