You can't, unless you change your data source accordingly. The easiest way to do this is a repeater.

Hi all,
Is there a way that I can dynamically determine all the images in a bannerfarm and then display them as thumbnail images. so if some of the image are removed or added on the bannerfarm it will update on the site and only display what is in the bannerfarm.
I'm trying to keep the site independent from the bannerfarm.
If someone can just nudge me in the right direction, this is the first time that I'm working with bannerfarms so I'm not exactly sure how to approach this.
thanks in advance

I need to display image on IMAGE control at my ASP.NET page. Image is saved on SQL binary field. How can I retrive image from binary field and display on Image control? Please help me.

This gets asked at least four times a day. Write a HTTP handler that takes the id of the image and streams back the bytes, and then put links to that handler in your img tags

We have an web user control (dashboard control) contained in the master page that has 1 webPartManager and 1 Scriptmanager and 4 WebPartZones
Users can add assigned WebParts to this page.
These WebParts have 1 UpdatePanel each with UpdateMode=Conditional
When all 4 Zones have WebParts, clicking a button in one of the webparts triggers a posback of the whole page triggering postback in each of the other three webparts on the page. What I expect is to do an asynchronous postback and trigger the click event in one webpart.
Is there a way to isolate the events in a WebPart from the other zones?

private void LoadRechargeOptions(VerifyPromotionResponse response)
{
ListItem li;
if (response.ChargeAmount1 >0)
{
li = new ListItem();
li.Attributes.Clear();
li.Value = response.ChargeAmount1.ToString();
li.Text = response.CurrencyCode + response.ChargeAmount1.ToString();
rdlRechargeOptions.Items.Add(li);

I have a normalized relational database that will power an HR application. The problem arises when I attempt to edit a gridview row where the foreign key value is null and the foreign key is bound to a dropdownlist from a lookup table. It is null because it is not required; for example, the position description id is null because it hasn't been created/uploaded yet or a stateid is null because the person is from another country. Don't want to argue the issue of null foreign keys; sometimes it is logical to not be required. Problem is when the Edit button is clicked it causes this error: Object reference not set to an "instance of an object". I can "jury-rig" the database by putting a blank record in each "lookup" table then putting that key value in the foreign key fields of the appropriate table but that's a bad solution for several reasons. So does anyone have a good solution on how to handle this in ASP.NET C# (which I am learning)? In good ole classic ASP it was a cinch. A logical approach to my "newby .net" self is to write code that essentially says "if (database record) stateid is null then don't bind the drop-down control; else bind it". Thoughts please! Thanks.
|
|
|
|
|
The object reference error shows that it is not binded,
therefore to stop this happening you need to run a check so that if it does find a foreign key which is null then check this and then disable the edit button.
make sense?

Thank you but that doesn't solve my problem. The edit may be valid because there are other fields in the record that need edited. I need help on not binding the ddl if the foreign key is null.

if column is null
DD2.Items.Clear()
