I have a question. WHy are you using ASP ? I hope you tried google, but the reason there's not much help on it, is that no-one uses it for new projects, because it's nasty as hell.
Or do you mean ASP.NET and you're getting your terminology wrong AND asking in the wrong forum ?

Use the GetRows method.

I'm not clear on what you mean by that.

Hi
Please help me in below logic.
I have made one table in asp.
Like:
SNO Id name DOJ APD amt
1 101 a 22/04/2008 22/04/2008
2 102 b 22/04/2008 23/04/2008
3 103 c 22/04/2008 23/04/2088
4 104 d 22/04/2008 24/04/2008
5 102 b 22/04/2008 24/04/2008
6 103 c 22/04/2008 24/04/2008
I want to add new amt coulmn in above table .that i have added .Now for value of amount I want it should be fixed rs. 50 for each id.now in above table tht is made in ASP Id 102 & 103 repeating means i want that in amt field count of 102 & 103 should come 2.
like:
amt(count)
1
1
1
1
2
2
and in amt coulmn when i click on 2 then it should display :
"ID 102 amount is from 22/04/2008 to 24/04/2008 is =50 * 2 =100"
Please help how can i do this.its urgent.
RASAP
Thanks

whenever you add new value implement query counting records having same id as new id entered.
for example if 7th value in above table come with id=104 then query will be
select count(*) as xx from table where id=104
now rs("xx") will give you new counter and I think further process is simple.
this is what I understood about your problem.

Im working with TCP/IP packets in the form of Byte Arrays and I need to access the Data section (if there is one).
I was thinking the best way to go about this would be to subtract the length of the option section from the overall size of the packet and subtract 20. (20 bytes being the fixed size of the IP datagram)
Data_Section_Length = Total_Packet_Length - Option_Section_Length - 20
A. Is that the best way to grab the data?
B. How would I go about determining the size of the 'Options' section?
All suggestions welcome.
|
|
|
|

No, this is how you find the data:
DataOffset = HeaderLength * 4
DataLength = TotalLength - DataOffset
The header length is bits 4 through 7 in the first word of the header.
The total length is bits 16 through 31 in the first word of the header.

Got a bunch of lists in my current web project, and as of right now, we're storing them in XML files. But that seems..un-natural to me. I'd prefer to store them in SQL server, but don't know how to do it better: one table per one list (I have at least 10-15 different lists, many below 15 items). Or one table, with all lists in it, and a column to specify which list an item belongs to?
Any best-practices? Thanks.

If you have a lot of different lists, I agree that SQL Server is the best place to put it. If you have one list, and they have all sorts of different attributes you want to sort by, I'd keep it in XML and use an XSLT to reshape the XML to change what it's sorted by, as required.

You can't. And even if you could, you would get the local IP of the computer, not the IP that is used to communicate outside the local network.

U can use some of the Windows services(WMI).
This WMI contains many objects that can give u any information about a
system within the network...
This is done mainly ASP.try in .NET.

Hello all!
Since I just got a reply on my previous post and it wasn't useful I'm reposting:
Here's the website -
http://cic-caracas.org/test3[^]
As you can see (if you open it with FIREFOX, you'll see the popup menu under the flash movie. If you open it with Internet Explorer, you'll see it the correct way.
I've tried the z index, the absolute position, the transparent flash object but nothing has worked so far.
help?
Thank you!

What would be a minimum spec for a web server with very modest usage, i.e. about 20 concurrent users, and what would be a good spec, maybe looking at reserve capacity for growth to say 50 concurrent users? I don’t know where to start looking, so I’m asking the web experts here.

To answer that question you need to run load tests on the server using your application. The problem with us answering your question is that first off, we don't know what kind of processing you're doing, and how it is doing it. Your application may or may not be properly optimized or properly disposing of objects. Is the site doing image processing or serving video? Is it connecting to a database?
But even knowing the answers to these questions, you'll still have to look around for a load testing framework which will allow you to setup a load and set the number of concurrent threads (users). Then monitor your server using the Perfmon utility to watch memory useage, cpu rate and disk paging to start off.
Visual Studio 2005 comes with a tool, but I can't remember what it's called since I'm at a client's site and they haven't installed it on this machine. I think its something along the lines of Load Test Analyzer or something.

Hi All,
Can anyone help me by giving the code for whois component in asp?
|
|
|
|
|
There are two ways to get this thing done:
1) Have a COM component doing this WHOIS operation and use Server.CreateObject from your ASP Page to invoke and use this.
2) Have an ASP.NET Webservice which has builtin network capabilities to do a WHOIS look. You can simply consume an ASP.NET webservice from ASP.

Hi to all,
I receive the Catastropic Error .
To resolve that i have to put the DLL which are runtime created
when i add the active x control reference into my project.
Please tell me steps how i can put that dlls into GAC providing public key will it work...
pl. tell me the steps
Thanks

If you're using the GAC, you probably want to ask in the right forum ( ASP.NET ).
Active X dlls don't live in the GAC, they are totally different concepts that have nothing to do with each other.
