Hi,
When I create a new web user control or master page or a normal aspx page, then there is a property AutoEventWireup that is set to true. I am using C# 2.0. What I did was to take it out where ever I can see it, and add it once in my web.config file in the pages element. Will this be sufficient for the web user control, master page and the aspx file. Or does the pages element refer to only a aspx page?
Thanks
Brendan

I don't know why you'd bother unless you were setting it to false.

So you are suggestion what? That I leave it there, or just take it out?

I'd just leave it there, unless you intend to turn it off, then I'd change it to turn it off.
You're not going to make a sitewide change, it's going to break a lot of methods if you do.

I think it will only be set for the page it is being used!
true - event linking enabled
false - no event linking.
Why would you want to put it in a web.config file ?

What is secpay ?
Credit card processing ? You need to find a payment gateway, get an account with them and use their SDK. I have an article which is a wrapper for Authorise.
What country are you in ? More to the point, what country is your client in ?

The problem right now is that we have no idea what you're talking about. Post the error.

Well, it seems straightforward to me. I would expect that having MDAC installed would be enough to use mdb files ( which are Access, not SQL Server ). Have you tried deploying with SSE2005, given that's what the error says you need ? I am not sure how easy it would be to find now, SSE2008 is the current iteration. Perhaps you need to install that instead, on your dev machine and on your client machines ?

Consider 3 aspx pages: Login.aspx , Page1.aspx , Page2.aspx
Page1 and Page2 has logout button. In the Logout i remove the session
Session.Abandon();
Response.Redirect("Login.aspx");
From Login page user are able to click back button and view data, but they cannot perform any operation. how to ensure that on clicking back they remain in login page itself.
some option i have checked but they dont server my purpose
1. dont cache the page. but i require caching as user should be able to view data on clicking back throughout the application. Only on Logout i want to prevent the view of data
2. using History.forward(1) (Javascript), needs to be added on logout but i have my logout in all pages. (as a user control)
3. FormsAuthentication.SignOut(); cannot be used as user can still see data.
kindly help me out. Thank you

I need to write an article, I answer this twice a day.
Write a base class for your pages that require login. In this base page, if the Session does not contain the value that shows someone is logged in, redirect to your login page.

i have tried with base page but this does not serve my purpose as user can still see the previous page. As i have specified that on click of back button i dont want user to view data.
i have maintained session check on each page to prevent users for performing any operation.
Requirement being the user should not be able to view any previous page.
example secure site like(citibank site or gmail etc).
can anybody provide sample code.
thanks in advance...

My logout option is available in all the pages. this is a part of the banner as a user control. hence i cant place in the user control.
history.go(1);
if there is a just one Page for signout then this works. otherwise throughout the application it prevents me from going to the previous page using the back button (even though the user is not logged out).
i have even tried this using Javascript code on logout, but this doesnt work.
protected void Logout_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Session.Abandon();
string sScript = " history.go(1); ";
if (!Page.ClientScript.IsStartupScriptRegistered("privacy"))
Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(typeof(Page), "privacy", sScript);
Response.Redirect("Login.aspx");
}
Please Help !!
