Thanks christian. Can you explain clearly what are the steps we need to follow to invoke the dll and it's methods.

www.pinvoke.net shows how to do it for win32 API stuff, you write code that imports the method from the dll and then call that from C#

HI All,
I am using VS03 + c# + Winforms.
In my application , if i select English language then all the lables of the forms should be in english.
If i check language as italian then all the labels should be in italian.
Or i can check any name of language.
So i want the multiple language support for my application.
HOw can i do this?
Procedure in c# Is appriciated.
Thanks in advance.

Build string tables representing the same strings in your different languages. Then read the right value based on the selected values, for all strings shown in your program.

Hi ,
Thanks for the reply.
As per your suggestion i have to store the values of the lable in a table.
This is fisible only for one form.
But in my application ,i have to use this localization to whole project.
ie.When i select Spanish language then all the labels from the application should change in spanish. So how can i achieve this?

Well, you can do it how I said, or you can try black magic.
I have localised entire applications this way, this is how it is done.

AS per your suggestion if i store the values of labels in databse. And i have to check for every page in application that which language is choose.
So the load of application is increased. Also i have to write lot of code for different languages.
Is there any alterrnative?
Can you give me detailed procedure how you localize the project.

In the form property there should be a property called "Localizable" (IIRC). Set the property to true and change the Language property to whichever language that you target, then start to fill in the label with appropriate text in that language. It will generate different resource files for each language. Be aware that the location of the controls will be "localized" together with the text, though.
You will have to set the thread's culture info to Italian, for instance, during application startup, and you may not switch the cultureinfo after you have set it (Not sure if this still the case in .NET 2.0+).
You may need to do some extra work for localization still, for instance datagridview's header text, or message box text.
Localization Walk Thru[^]
I don't use this method for localization, though

Hi,
Am working with windows application(C#).I've got many images in a form.If i minimize or maximize that form, the form is not properly loaded. The screen at the background of the that form is visible partly. What should i do?Is it due to loading of many images in that form?Or is there any other reason?Any help is much appreciated.

Hard to say, but I'd guess it's to do with how you load and display your images.

What is the generated exe file supposed to do? If you have source code written in Vb.Net or C# you can compile it during runtime and generate executable file. Here is an example: Compiling source file dynamically[^]

Hi,
I want to know if there is any event to know if the print button on the report viewer toolbar is clicked. I want to do some database updations only if the report is printed.
The alternative is to not use the toolbar button and do the printing on some button click on the form. But i dont want to do that.
Please reply if anyone know anything abt this.

If i send a file with a size about 4-6 kilobyte, the file is received on the other side, but if i send the file with file size about 32 r larger size, the client or the server on the other side does not receives it. Is there a good way to send large files through sockets using network stream ?
|
|
|
|
|
Did you look at the Read/Write methods of the NetworkStream class? You need to know how many bytes you wrote on the stream and read that back. It's simple like that.
|
|
|
|
|
Okay buddy, i have done it by making chunks of 4000 bytes of the whole file. Its easy and fast. Anyway, thanks a lot for your interest.

Look at using COM Interop to run a backup command. It's always easiest to record a macro in Access performing the required task, then convert to VBA, then look at the code and try to see how to achieve the same thing with the Access COM objects.
