Hi!
I'm Rathakrishnan. I've to read XML Data from a URL using C++. How do I do this? I read the msdn Knowledge Base. But it has been given using VC++ .NET. How can I do this using C++?

You have two questions, really.

1/ How to get "stuff" from a URL,

I'm no expert at this, but have a look at InternetOpenUrl, InternetReadFile, etc.

and

2/ How to interpet XML.

There are several articles on CP. I've used TinyXML, but then I only process xml that I've generated, so it may not be robust enough.

Hi all,

i want to know how can i save a picture in Access database and,

see when i retrived the information from database.

i m using a String for this,and store the path of picutre when i browse the file for open and then store it in database.

when i want to retrived the information from database then i reterive this string and set picutre with this help.

Is it right way?

So are you wanting to store the path to the picture, or the picture itself? If the latter, see here.

Are you looking for something like the Recent Files functionality implemented in MS Office applications. you can use the registry to set up the file name that you want to open and read it later.
You can also use the database, but connecting your application to the database only to achieve this would be an overhead.

Somethings seem HARD to do, until we know how to do them.

I am doin the following...

string f_no;
int file_num=1
...
path.insert(path.length()-4,itoa (file_num,fno,10));

I get error as...

error C2664: 'itoa' : cannot convert parameter 2 from 'class std::basic_string<char,struct std::char_traits<char="">,class std::allocator<char> >' to 'char *'
        No user-defined-conversion operator available that can perform this conversion, or the operator cannot be called
Error executing cl.exe.
</char></char,struct>

What cud be the problem? Please letme know.

I had also tried to do that but on giving that I get...

error C2664: 'itoa' : cannot convert parameter 2 from 'const char *' to 'char *'
        Conversion loses qualifiers

Why don't you use a std::strstream object for the conversion?
For instance:

strstream sr;
sr << 1 << '\0';

The Problem is that itoa can not convert "int to basic string".

Syntax
char *_itoa(
   int value,
   char *str,
   int radix 
);

and Answer is try this

char strBuffer[20];
  int  iValue = 3445;
  _itoa( iValue , strBuffer, 10 );
    string strTmpValue(buffer);
