So the field vanishes for all the records, or appears for all the records. Hopefully my execute statement wont choke. For example, I cant get past a crash when i do an insert into in an execute statement. Its really frustrating! I pConn->Execute or PCommand->Execute or even pRecordset.OPen(pCommand,...) All three crash. SO hopefully your sql wont crash. ANy ideas why? If you are into SQL and db, can you point me to some Working code for addnew or insert into? Theres tons of stuff out there - nothing works. Everything works on the child dialogs except for my combo boxes, which are drop-down style straight from the ClassWizard. They worked fine on the main page. Now, the lists will not drop down at all on my XP system, and only a blank list drops down on my W2K system (not sure why). The lists are the proper size. If the problem is that the list portion of the combo box is a child of the desktop, is there a workaround? Thanks in advance for any help, - Fran http://www.surrealstructures.com Re: Combo box in CTabCtrl child dialog dazinith9-Aug-02 9:48 dazinith 9-Aug-02 9:48  i have only used CPropertySheets to do tabbed interfaces, but what you probably need to do is have a function get called whenever a tab is selected.. like a notify event.. whenever a tab(dialog) gets this notify event it should call m_cbMyCombo.ResetContent() and then m_cbMyCombo.InsertString() for each of your items.. what probably happens is that the OnInitDialog() is only called once (or maybe not at all) for each of the tabs(dialogs).. so you should call a function to populate them everytime that tab is selected.. hope im somewhere on target.. -dz Re: Combo box in CTabCtrl child dialog Fran Davey9-Aug-02 10:13 Fran Davey 9-Aug-02 10:13  Hi dz, Thanks! Does anyone know whether it's possible to affect the security domains of windows and frames presented within the browser control selectively - eg. for different window instances to possess alternate security levels. I'd like to develop a BC based app. that possesses security characteristics similar to those of an HTA. This is primarily to allow script originating from one domain to affect pages from a foreign domain without providing the foreign domain a 'Trusted' status relative to the top level window. Essentially I'm trying to get the BC instance to behave like an HTA. Any advice a/o leads on resource will be appreciated - I'm new to windows development. (There are articles about this here at Codeproject.) However, WriteProcessMemory() is usually used only to modify memory in foreign processes. If you need to monitor what the process does on its own address space you are nearly out of luck. This means that you have to write a debugger that connects to the target process, halts all threads and single steps them to monitor the changes.
