Hi,
You can call Window.Close() in OnClientClick , This will close current window.( If it is popup this will close popup window)
|
|
|
|
|
I don't know if that's your problem, but I remember that I was struggling few years ago with something similar. The headache was caused by the fact that postback in modal window doesn't really work as expected. The workaround was to do all the popup window eventhandling on clientside with javascript, or, better solution, have a iframe in your popup window and load your aspx page into that iframe.
It is possible that your problem is something different, I just wanted to mention that this can be the case

currently i m using asp.net with C# (.net 2005,2.0 framework)
here i have a string and i would like to delete all words following by a specified word.
For example:
string a="The code project website is more and more famous";
i would like to delete all the words after the "is" and store in the same 'a' string. so the resultant should be of..
a="The code project website"
how to implement this.. help me - KARAN
|
|
|
|
|
string a = "The code project website is blah blah blah...";
int index = a.IndexOf("is");
int startIndex = 0;
int length = index + 1;
a.Substring(startIndex, length);
|
|
|
|
|
That will find any occurrence is is, so for an initial string string of "This is my house", you will only get "Th" returned. You need to include the spaces around 'is', and your length is to long:
int index = a.IndexOf("is");
int startIndex = 0;
int length = index; You want to stop just before <code>index</code>, as <code>index</code> is the first character of the string you want to remove.

|
string a = txtContX.Text;
int index = a.IndexOf("is"); // gets the index of 'is'.
int startIndex = 0;
int length = index; //the length of the string
txtContY.Text=a.Substring(startIndex, length);//returns the new string...
Thanks a lot friends!

Hi all
I am displaying a report in a web application and i want when printing the report to set the layout to Landscape automatically without the user changing the properties of the printer each time. Is there a script or css that can do this change?
|
|
|
|
|
You cant change the settings of the printer through asp.net
The user has to do this themselves.

Anyone know of a good resource or "how to" for ASP.NET Forms Authentication for two or more domains?
A google search on "asp.net cross domain authentication" mainly seems to give me links to JAAS (which, beeing Java, I can't use) or articles that deal with single domain authentication.
Cheers.

if the domains are truly both in "website.com", just issue the cookie once and set the domain attribute of the cookie to "website.com". Then the cookie will automatically be useable in both domains since both sites share a common portion of their DNS name.

Thanks for that.
It covers my immediate situation.
Out of interest. Is there any way to authenticate across domains that don't share a common domain name?

The prop system is ATN's way of ensuring that user information is homogenous across the different systems in the DCI namespace. At the heart of this system is a database containing default information on users: their userid, uid, gid, gecos field, home directory, and default shell. Using the propclient tool in conjunction with a local configuration file, this system will update your local password files with the information housed in the database. To use the system, create a /etc/prop.cfg file on your local machine. An example file can be found at /afs/isis.unc.edu/@sys/etc/prop.cfg. Copy this file to your /etc directory and customize it to your system (instructions on how to do that are contained in the file itself). Then run the propclient as root and it will automatically update the password files on your local system.
To invoke the propclient, use the command:
# /afs/isis/common/prop/propclient

I have detailview which is inside a repeater
The repeater is binded with categorytable
String sql=”select * from category”;
Bind the data source to the repeater
Now on repeater databind event I use find control to find the detail view and bind data to it
protected void Repeater1_ItemDataBound(object sender, RepeaterItemEventArgs
{
int catid = 0;
string sql = "Select * top(2) from items where catid =" + catid;
//where the catid changes when eahc row is create I wabt to show two data on each row of detail view
//find the the detail view bind the detail view with data
}
Now every things workfine it displyas the data but the problem is I want a header for each detailview which represents category name on top of detail view . I am not being able to do this
Like
Header(categoryname1)//not being able to display
//detail view to show items in that category(categoryname1) only 2 wll be //displayed I am able to display this
Separator //not being able to display
Header(categoryname2)// not being able to display
//detail view to show items in that category(categoryname2) only 2 wll be //displayed I am able to display this
Separator )// not being able to display
Is this question two silly?
Now if I use repater inside repaeter how can I display 2 items in each row which I get from database

When should I use Web Parts in ASP.NET web apps?
When would Web Parts be overkill / too much overhead?
|

ASP.NET 2.0 was a major improvement upon web development everywhere. One very powerful aspect of ASP.NET 2.0 is the ability to make your web application personalizable using the Web Part framework. With the launch of MOSS (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007) many companies and developers have rekindled focus on utilizing this amazing tool. This article will start with the basics of understanding web parts and personalization.
