I think you are really talking about formatting xml here, not a web service. Or am I missing something?

Hi,
I have a web page where I have a form that allows a user to enter his login. When the user submits the login, I want to display something according to the login value (it's an image uploaded by the user and linked to his login by a cookie).
When the page is loaded at the beginning, the piece of code that displays the image has an empty variable (which is quite logical) and nothing appears.
I tried to reload the page after the user type in his login. That works fine under Firefox. The variable is updated with the value in the form and the right image is displayed. But under IE, when the reload occurs, the text in the form disappears and thus, the variable remains empty.
Is there any way to reload only the part of the page that displays the image? I've been looking at frames but I will lose the ability to move my image in the page (actually the image is part of a virtual keyboard that I can move around).
Any other ideas?
Thanks !

Make an AJAX call if you need to, then just set the href of the img tag to change the image, in jscript.

Ok, I guess I will have a look at AJAX then.

So, as I said I went to AJAX. It is very good except that I have something wrong under Firefox. Everything is fine under IE7, but under FF2 when I submit my form, nothing happens anymore. I don't have any errors in the error console so I don't really see what's going on.
Sounds familiar?

Hi all,
I have a simple ASP page that uses QueryString to get a string passed to the ASP page in the URL and write it back to the page. The code page is set to 65001. I run it on IIS 6.
The server is configured with proper locales and all required code pages.
When i pass non English characters in the URL, it only shows spaces and nothing else.
Is the IIS server not configured properly or is there something special that should be done to get this to work?
The ASP page i'm talking about is just a test, the real ASP that i need to work is part of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 so i don't think the code page should be changed.
Thanks,

Hi All,
I have a new requirement to convert html/asp page to word document. This can be done using Response.ContentType & Response.AddHeader. But my web page can contain frames, in that case, the contents of all the frames should be appended to single word document (without frames). Response.ContentType & Response.AddHeader converts the page with frames to word document with frames. I need the word document without frames, with all frame contents appended to single word document.
Any Suggestions/Help ???

Savee

hi all,
I have a trouble with JavaScript, I want to get location (left, top) of a Frame (a page has three frames). I have tried with getting Document of the Frame
var body = DocFrame.getElementByTagname('body')[0]
var left = body.offsetLeft
however, it always return 0.
I'm very happy if you can point me to the answer
thanks,
lvthanh

You'll want the actual frame element in the document containing the frameset (i suspect you already have this, but can't tell from your example if that's how you're retrieving the frame's document). Once you have this, the offsetTop and offsetLeft properties should give you what you need.

setTimeout works great in Firefox, but I can't get IE to pass more than one argument. Does anyone know a trick?
|
|
|
|
|
There is no trick needed. How are you trying to pass the arguments?
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.

setTimeout(function() { myfunc(param1, param2, param3); }, 300); ...should work in most browsers, and will call myfunc passing whatever you give it (in this case, param1 , param2 , param3 );
You could also write a helper function to make this a bit cleaner:
function setTimeoutParam(ms, func)
{
var args = Array.prototype.slice.call(arguments, 2);
setTimeout(function() { func.apply(this, args); }, ms);
} ...which you can then call with the timeout value, function, and any number of desired parameters to that function, for example:
setTimeoutParam(1000, alert, "called after 1 second");

Hi All,
How can read file located at the C:\ Drive of cleint using FileSystem object
Thanks in Advance
Dana
|
|
|
|
|
There is no FileSystem object. There is a FileSystemObject object.
You can't read client files using the FileSystemObject object. On the server side (ASP) you can of course not read client side files. On the client side (Javascript) you have no access to the file system.

Hi
I want to create an internet deal site. something like www.dealstobuy.com, www.edealinfo.com
I can handle the website setup and page development part.
1. But I need to understand how to get the deal feeds from various online vendors?
2. How do I approach these online merchants for feeds etc?
3. Will I need to save the feed content like information/images for historical reasons?
Any additional points will be helpful. Thanks

Hi,
Does anybody know if it is possible to place images like this on a page.....
<div style="background-color:Green; position: relative; height: 100%;">
<img style="position: relative; top: 10px;" src="square.GIF" />
<img style="position: relative; top: 48px; left:150px" src="square.GIF" />
</div>
...but change it so when I resize my browser the images resize and reposion themselves to maintain their relative size and position?
Thanks in advance.
|
|
|
|
|
You can specify image width or height as a percentage, which will then scale. You can also specify position as a percentage.
Or you can use a bit of script to resize and reposition them when the page size changes. This is a bit less reliable, but does give you the most control over how they size / scale.

Whilst sifting through my Spam Folder one day, I found the following file entitled Unsubscribe.htm
I'm just wondering if any of you JavaScript Experts can decode it
I would HIGHLY suggest AGAINST running it....

Just wondering but don't the <!-- and --> mean that everything between there is a comment? Maybe it's different in Java but since it's still in an HTML document I just thought I'd ask. It looks like the majority of that stuff is in a comment to me.

After doing some more research on how to decrypt javascript; it seems that unless you can get the key that the string was encrypted (escaped) with, you will have to brute force the code to unencrypt it.
|
|
|
|
|
It's not really encrypted, just encoded. The first bit writes out code for decoding the rest, which writes out the following:
<head>
<title>Loading page...</title>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=http/removemaster.com">
<!--/HEAD-->
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"><!--
if(navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Gecko')!=-1&&navigator.userAgent.indexOf('KHTML')==-1)
{
document.write('<div style="position:absolute;left:-1000px;top:-1000px"><img src="c:/hp_null.gif" width="0" height="0"></div>')'
5/--></SCRIPT>
<!--BODY--><!--/BODY-->
...and yeah, that's pretty bogus HTML - possibly because i didn't decode it properly, more likely because it was written by idiots. I guess i wouldn't worry about it too much... but i wouldn't enter my email address on that site either.

Hello,
Please forgive if this sounds off for this is my first forum post.
I have been searching for a code that I can use for my site, I want to be able to download files off my external hard drive from the website. So all in all my friends could come to my website and pick the file they wish to download and that file would be hosted on my external drive.
I run a Apache server
