You need to put the values on your link, and read them off the query string.

1.Passing the value through query string
2.If the action is mapped to the aspx page in your HTML form then you can access the fields through Request object in your aspx page.
i.e something like this..
...
3.I think it can be passed through session also ...but I'm not sure!! Google it.

3 - no. How would a html page put something in the session, which is on the server ? It would have to be turned in to an ASPX

Possibly an incomplete read of the article. That article should have guided you a postback to the server either through an hidden form or XmlHttp to an ASPX page that does the saving the data to a session store.

Hello!
I´ve got a number of validators on a page. I display the errormessages they generate in a ValidationSummary-control. I dont want the actual errormessage to show twice, so I´ve got property Display set to None on all the validators. Problem is this:
Im in a textbox with a requiredfieldvalidator pointed at it. I press enter, and nothing happens. No error message in the summarycontrol, no nothing. If I remove the Display=None from the validator I get the errormessage, but only in the validator not in the summary. I´ve got EnableClientScript set to true on my summarycontrol, shouldnt I get the errormessage there right away? Not I´ve got to press a button or something in order for the errormessage to show there.

There's two properties ( text and error from memory ), and you can set one to blank and the other to the text for the summary. If you set only one, they both are teh same.

Thanks for your reply. But I don´t understand exactly what you mean. Does the Summary-control have two properties I need to set? This is what it looks like now:
<asp:validationsummary id="valSummary">
runat="server"
DisplayMode="List"
ShowSummary="true"
EnableClientScript="true"
ShowMessageBox="false"
HeaderText="yadayada></asp:validationsummary>

No, the validators do.

You mean Text and ErrorMessage ? I´ve tried giving both value but the problem remains
EDIT: I might add that the problem only occurs if I leave textbox blank. If I type in a few letters and press enter all the validators show correct messages in the summarycontrol.

Hi to all
I am very new to .NET Technology...
I have created a client application in vb.net (Console application) for a web service. The service provider send me a certificate file (certificate.cer) to communicate with server. i just copied the same to local folder c:\Myfolder and double click and install it.
i am connecting to the server through a secure vpn connection
When i run the application, i am getting the following error
"An unhandled exception of type 'System.Net.WebException' occurred in system.dll
Additional information: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship with remote server."
Imports System
Imports System.Net.WebClient
Imports System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates
Module Module1
Sub Main()
Console.WriteLine("Start")
Dim mycc As New SH_SaleService
Dim certific As String = "C:\Myfolder\certificate.cer"
Dim cert As X509Certificate = X509Certificate.CreateFromCertFile(certific)
mycc.ClientCertificates.Add(cert)
Dim ZZ As String
'Following line is used to check the status of a serialnumber"
ZZ = mycc.getInfoBill("UserID", "Password", "7852455")
Console.WriteLine(ZZ)
Console.WriteLine("End")
End Sub
End Module
My question
is there anything missing in my client program.. and how i can refer a certificate file in vb project
Thanks for replies in advance

Hi,
How can we unregister/re-register with new values a client script block which was registered through Ajax "ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript" method.
Regards

There's nothing like "unregister" script..i.e no method like 'DeRegisterClientScriptBlock' or something...i think you can re-register a script. Try google for it..

Hi
I have a link which takes a user back to a gridview.
Is there a way to direct a user back to a specific page of the gridview as currently they have to navigate back through the pages in the gridview to get to the one they were previously on.
cheers

When the user navigate from one page to the next in the datagrid view you may store the current index in session or some where.
Now When the user comes back; check if the stored value is null or not if not set the
PageIndex of the datagrid to the stored value.
Thanks

cheers, I used:
page_load
if (Session["gridviewindex"] != null)
{
GridView_roomSchedule.PageIndex = Convert.ToInt32(Session["gridviewindex"]);
}
else
{
gridviewindex = "";
}
store session:
Session["gridviewindex"] = GridView.PageIndex;
thanks for the help!

in each row's cell i can have more than one hyperlink so how to get this.
|
|
|
|
|
Convert the column in the gridView you want the hyperlinks to be a template column in the source code you can add how much hyperlink you want in side the itemtemplate tags like below.
<pre><asp:templatefield headertext="Header"> <itemtemplate>
<a href="google.com" id="hyl1">Google1</a>
<a href="google.com" id="hyl2">Google2</a>
<a href="google.com" id="hyl3">Google3</a>
</itemtemplate>
</asp:templatefield></pre>
Thanks
