Hello,
I have a SharePoint application with a list (with data). I want to get the data with the webservice method into my windows vb.net application. Does anybody know, how I can get my list information into the windows application with the webservice method?
I have created a webservice to get lists. If I want to get the listdetails the webservice tells my that a credential error there is.
I have tryed this:
Dim Liste As New ServiceReference.ListsSoapClient
Dim node As Xml.XmlNode = Liste.GetListCollection("NameOfList")
Can anybody show my an example, please?
Thanks a lot.

I have the following TextBox on my .aspx page.
<asp:textbox id="hdnresultbox" style="z-index: 101; left: 520px; position: absolute;<br mode=" hold=" /">top: 632px" runat="server" Width="1px" Height="1px" ReadOnly="false">no
The JavaScript from viewing the source is as follows. There is some JS above what you see here, but it is working fine. I also have a try...catch around all of this. The error that occurs is [object Error] and it occurs on the lines below when I attempt to set the value of the text box. The text box is on the page, but I am thinking it may have something to do with the runat="server" in the code above. I need that though b/c I check the field in my code-behind file as well. I need help on updating the value of this field via JavaScript.
if(result == true){
document.getElementById('aspnetForm._ctl0_ContentP laceHolder1_hdnresultbox').value='yes';
}else{
document.getElementById('aspnetForm._ctl0_ContentP laceHolder1_hdnresultbox').value='no';
}
return result;

Sorry....textbox code did not post.
<asp:TextBox ID="hdnresultbox" Style="z-index: 101; left: 520px; position: absolute;
top: 632px" runat="server" Width="1px" Height="1px" ReadOnly="false">no</asp:TextBox>

Well, serverside the ID of the textbox is not: "aspnetForm._ctl0_Conten...".
But rather the ID itself at designtime: "hdnresultbox".
Tried that?

As I can't see the controls surrounding the TextBox, I don't know exactly what the client id will be, but aspnetForm. is definitely not part of the id.

Use the ClientID property on the server side to write the id to a variable, then it will always be right.

At the moment i'm attempting to create an application that uses the Office 2007 renderer[^]
But, unfortunately, i'm having some serious run-time issues. The load time is par to none, so that's not the problem. But, when the form is resizing or being maximised, the lag is terrible and consumes up to 90% of the CPU (which considering I have 3GB RAM and Duel 2.2GHZ processor, is a lot).
I believe it's because the ToolstripManager redraws the entire content-panel region with the blue background. But, even when I switched to the default "Professional" renderer, it lagged slightly (but, not as bad as before). I enabled DoubleBuffer and SetStyle(OptimizedDoubleBuffer, True) but alas, it still lags.
Even placing Me.SuspendLayout() and Me.ResumeLayout() in the form resizing events does not stop that lag.
Is there any way that I can prevent all this lag, or is it always going to occur due to the redrawing upon resize?
Thanks muchly
~ Chris

Hello,
I had this idea of doing some work with wireless units etc.
So I looked into it, and found some functions in Windows Vista, for showing wireless networks (More specifically "netsh wlan ..."), which would show all networks with their signal strength etc.
However, for XP, all I find points towards WMI, which I have basically no idea how to use. Could anyone point me in the right direction, in regards to wireless communication / scanning.
The ultimate goal, is a triangulation application, which uses strengths from several points, to pinpoint one location.

Is there a simple way to do that? Or do I have to create a dataview of the first table and then put that view into a new table using .totable?
Thanks

you may use following code snippet:
Dim x As String = Table1.Rows(1).Item("Product")

I beleive you can use Linq to do this, however I have always done this in the database.

Hi to all
I am very new to .NET Technology...
I have created a client application in vb.net (Console application) for a web service. The service provider send me a certificate file (certificate.cer) to communicate with server. i just copied the same to local folder c:\Myfolder and double click and install it.
i am connecting to the server through a secure vpn connection
When i run the application, i am getting the following error
"An unhandled exception of type 'System.Net.WebException' occurred in system.dll
Additional information: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship with remote server."
Imports System
Imports System.Net.WebClient
Imports System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates
Module Module1
Sub Main()
Console.WriteLine("Start")
Dim mycc As New SH_SaleService
Dim certific As String = "C:\Myfolder\certificate.cer"
Dim cert As X509Certificate = X509Certificate.CreateFromCertFile(certific)
mycc.ClientCertificates.Add(cert)
Dim ZZ As String
'Following line is used to check the status of a serialnumber"
ZZ = mycc.getInfoBill("UserID", "Password", "7852455")
Console.WriteLine(ZZ)
Console.WriteLine("End")
End Sub
End Module
My question
is there anything missing in my client program.. and how i can refer a certificate file in vb project
Thanks for replies in advance

your code seems fine to me.
Are you sure that the certficate you are using is the correct one..
What I mean to ask is if you can check that this error is not being thrown due to some reasons at server side.

I currently have a project which was to finding the particular files in my com and to delete them if the file is 4 days old. I am starting from scratch anyone can advise me how can i go about doing it?

is com, computer ?
I guess use the FileInfo class to find out how old the file is, then delete it. System.IO is the namespace you need.

Looks like you're getting set to learn.
It's really very easy. Why not post what you've done so we can help ? If you're incapable of making a start, you're probably also incapable of changing any code you're given, you should consider sites like rentacoder, if you need this one app but don't need to know how to write code for any future work.

When i am using the getfiles method and listing them into the list box i am unable to get all the file. I use .ppt as example i only manage to get one same file over and over again whenever i click on my read button. But the explanation given but the software is that the code suppose to be able to list down all the file. So i dun understand why i cant? any by the way anyones knows how to use the getfilesdatetime function?

with getfiles you get an array of files. if your listbox just shows the same file over and over again, i assume you are using for... next to add the files to your listbox, counting the number of items in your array but not changing the index at each step. either change the index or use for each... next for iterating through that array and adding its items to your listbox.

I am using for each... next in my coding and it still just list only one file. Dun understand why..

I have read the help provided by the software but it dun provide detailed explanation and no example given. I not very sure on how it actually works. Example like string.remove(12, 4) wat does it mean?
