hey Bob,
I have a tree control and the data which displayed in that tree control I need to Export into "Pdf, tiff, Html, Word and Excel"...
I think this will clear my question to you...
|

Well, there is no simple answer. All of these formats require significant coding which you will need to research individually. Writing to MS applications is relatively simple, writing to HTML is just a case of putting the applicable tags around your data etc.
I think Google is about to become your new best friend

You can do this using reporting services. But you will need to get the data from database using query representing your tree view.

Exactly HOW are you meant to export as tiff... ?
Ok, I understand you CAN draw the text onto the image... But you won't be able to IMPORT it without some Text Recognition Software...

hi,
If you don't want to spend time take a look at controls of devexpress.
It cost some money but i guess the time you need to write it is more expensive.
FE : The devexpress grid exports all formats you need.
otherwise : Not sure but for tiff you need to change the canvas to bitmap en convert it to tiff.
a panel has a draw to bitmap so here's a piece of my code :
Bitmap Tmp_Bitmap = new Bitmap(Designer.Width, Designer.Height);
Designer.DrawToBitmap(Tmp_Bitmap, new Rectangle(0, 0, Designer.Width, Designer.Height));
e.Graphics.DrawImageUnscaled(Tmp_Bitmap, new Point(0, 0));

In c# i need to an icon so that in the add or remove programs list instead of the internet explorer image i should be able to see the application's icon
|
|
|
|
|
I think you need to elaborate your question a little bit more. Do you want to change the icon of another program or your own program? If it is for your own program, have you assigned an icon to the application. Does the exe have a default icon or a custom icon?

I might confuse you a little now... The icon that i am talking about should be reflected in the add or remove programmes.. i.e i build the project and create a setup.. when i install the setup i want My Icon to come in the Add/Remove programmes in the control panel? Is this possible? Thanks a lot for the response...

Hi,
You can add an icon of your choice to your application by following the below mentioned steps in VS2005:
1) Right click on your project and choose Properties.
2) Choose Application Tab.
3) Under Resources group, choose Icon.
4) Click on the correponding button and choose .ico file of you choice.
5) Save and rebuild the project.
6) Goto YourApplication\debug\bin\YourApplicationName.exe and the icon of your application's exe file will be changed.
Hope this helps .

When a build results in an error, intellisense highlights that line, with a blue wiggly underline, and a mouseover of the offending line gives a popup of the error message + explanation.
How do you cancel that? I find it irritating when i then want to get the regular intellisense features as a part of fixing the error on that line.
The only way i've found is a build|clean - but that makes the next build take a lot longer.
|
|
|
|
|
On the Tools menu, click Options.
Select the Text Editor folder.
Select the folder for the language you want to customize IntelliSense.
In the Advanced property page, clear check boxes for the features that you do not want.
|
|
|
|
|
I want the feature: I just want to be able to clear it, perhaps with a key combination.
So that I can view the error, then once I know it, i can switch back to regular intellisense for type info etc.
|
|
|
|
|
Press CTRL+SHIFT+B which will re-build the solution and clear the previous errors that you fixed.

Hello everyone,
After some searched can not find the answers.
Suppose developing an Windows service application, and I need to register the event log in Windows registry.
1. What is the function of property EventMessageFile under SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Application\[Some specific service name]?
2. How to fill the value for this property? I have analyzed a couple the values of property EventMessageFile of services of my local machine, and find all values for this property are different.
thanks in advance,
George

This is the event logging code from the TaskVision sample. Hope it helps.
private const string c_EventSource = "TaskVision";
private const string c_LogName = "Application";
public static void Write(string errorMessage)
{
try
{
if (EventLog.SourceExists(c_EventSource))
{
EventLog msg = new EventLog(c_LogName);
msg.Source = c_EventSource;
msg.WriteEntry(errorMessage);
}
else
{
EventLog.CreateEventSource(c_EventSource, c_LogName);
}
}
catch
{ }
}

Thanks Shree,
I am using the similar code. My question is more about how to deploy/install service, especially what is the usage of property EventMessageFile in Windows Registry.
Any ideas to my original question?
regards,
George

I need to add simple mailbox interface to
WinForms application.
There must be message topic and contents panels and maybe folder pane.
Users can browse messages, add attachmets, view attachments, compose new
message, send outgoing message.
Messages are stored in server database tables.
Where to find C# source code for this ?
