The problem is that i just want to encode the special character like % in the mozilla using Javascript. For that we used encodeURIComponent, but it is not encoding the %. So, the viewstate is failing. now what i want is that how to encode this type of special characters when we are using mozilla?
I tried something like string is converted to ASCII and then encode that ascii value.
Could you tell me how it works with EncodeURIComponent(textbox1.value)
Or any suggestion for this problem for mozilla???

Hi,
The problem is that when we enter the % in the searchtext, it is not getting encoded in the mozilla. Here we are maintaining the viewstate for this text. So, when we are redirecting the home page to search page, we are encoding the text for security. But the % character is not encoding in the mozilla because mozilla takes % if there is any space in the text. So, it is including this % to the URL. So, How to encode the % character in the Mozilla

My problem is that when creating a new subscription(inserting into sql2000) the query take about 3 to 5 minutes,of corse there something illlogical.
Note 1: the DB has a size about 2 GB.and there is a lot of record in each tables about 17000 record
Note 2: number of tables about 300. views are very complicated and about 500 views...

Thats not a lot of records per table.

I assume by this you mean when inserting records. I suggest you use the showplan option in query analyzer to see what is causing the problem. It should be pretty obvious from the showplan where the bottleneck is.

Yes, it is. So which part of your query showing a high % use? Thats the bit you need to address.

I was just thinking it is not possible to write such C# code from scratch

This is going on my arrogant assumptions. You may have a superb reason why I'm completely wrong.

There are many different ways of doing this. The only one I've ever used is the one used for mobile(cell) phones for the last IMEI digit.
That one's called the Luhn Algorithm[^]. It's pretty simple to implement - I've done it in jscript, C# and VB.

I've just noticed yu asked a very similar but more specific question[^] yesterday. Was the answer you received not good? It's received one vote of 5 so I assume it was what you were looking for in which case why are you posting the same (or remarkably similar) question again?

Hi I am creating two threads in my main method.
One: UI Thread which runs the UIMethod.
Second: Background Thread which runs the BackGroundMethod.
Now in the BackGroundMethod, I am calling several other methods which create many many threads and do lot of background work.
How can I know in the Main Method, when all of the entire threads created have terminated?
If I use Join method, then it would wait only for the BackgroundMethod to finish and not all the threads in the BackGroundMethod.
Can anyone help me on this??

Ok- you should take a look at signaling methods like Monitor.Pulse() and Monitor.Wait() . Read this[^]. Also take a look at WaitHandles[^]. It is the way which you can use to communicate across threads.

I am fairly new to all this..
Could you tell me the basic logic how to go about it?
Then probably I may read the documentation and try out..

It's too big topic to explain here. Read the links, it's pretty easy to get started.

I'd recommend the WaitHandles, implement a simple application with 2 threads and get some examples of how to use waithandles from MSDN[^] or where ever google points you. Once you understand how to use them in a simple application implement them in your more complicated application
