Hi People,
I have an ACE placed on a user control.
If no matching results are found for the criteria supplied I display --> No match found. Please select the item that matches your field of expertise.
This is a bit late and maybe less intuitive.
What I would like is to place a non selectable item in the result list at the very bottom. It would say --> Please select the item that matches your field of expertise.
The result list would then look like this below.
Finance
Clerk
Developer
Trader
Retail
etc
--------------------
Please select the item that matches your field of expertise
The last 2 lines would have some javascript that would prevent them from being selected. The webservice current does this ...
<br />
<br />
If Not (tblOccupations.hasRows) Then Return New String() {"Not found. Please try again for the closest match"}<br />
Dim items As List(Of String) = New List(Of String)(tblOccupations.totalRows - 1)<br />
While (tblOccupations.nextRecord)<br />
items.Add(tblOccupations.OCCUPATION_NAME)<br />
End While<br />
'--- Add Text To Inform User To Select The Closest Match<br />
items.Add("-------------------------------")<br />
items.Add("Please select the item that matches your field of expertise")<br />
Return items.ToArray()<br />
<br />
Is it at all possible to add any javascript here?
Many thanks

can't i access the session variables in the .ascx file(web user control)?
If you have an apple & I have an apple and we exchange our apples, then each of us will still have only one apple but if you have an idea & I have an idea and we exchange our ideas, then each of us will have two ideas!

It always evacuate the values from session , while using them in .ascx file.

Hi we are using asp.net2.0 with vs2005
We are looking for RAD tool to fasten our speed.
Team Size - 5 teams of 4 person each
can you suggest any good tool
I have a doubt using RAD tools that: they give a standard interface we generate the code.
now if I have to change a particular function / method / class of the code will the tool be able to handle that modification.
Thanks & Regards

Last time I checked RAD stands for Rapid Application Development. Of which .NET is in it's entirety. Thus the only tool required would be Visual Studio.

You may want to take a look at CodeSmith. It allows you to generate a lot of code without too much effort. Alternatively, you could look at IronSpeed - they are a Code Project sponsor company.

Dear All,
In an application that makes use of master pages , user controls and normal aspx pages, what do you think is the best type of paths to use for images to avoid problems when a particular page is moved from one folder to another for example.
I guess that it would be ideal to always use a path with reference to the root of the application. is this the case?
Thanks,
Chris Farrugia

A dedicated images folder for the application to serve as a central repository. It can have a similar structure as that of the application but contain only images.

hello i now using login in my project asp vb and its work good
now i want to give a who is logined? and if logined name is "rrr" this user can able to delete other users what i do for this act
please help me comletly to do this

If you're using the built in login control, then you need to read up on what that control offers. If you wrote your own, then you're in control of how it works. The session is not shared between users, so you'd expect that who is logged in is stored to the DB, for you to be able to access it across all users.

You ought to first learn to type an English sentence without flaw. Once you gain that programming (liasoning with a compiler) would be easy.

Hi,
In grid view Control,How can i represent a check box which is embed in the grid view.
|
|
|
|
|
See - when you cross posted to the C# forum, I assumed you meant a winforms grid. Is this post in the wrong forum, or was the other one ? Either way, you'll find CP articles that do what you want. Adding a check box to an ASP.NET grid view is beyond trivial, you just define the column accordingly.
