Why dont you try listening to the first post and actually do some searching yourself.(Excuse the pun)
There are plenty of search tools which you can use with asp.net from microsoft indexing services to a google search for your own website.
Do some of your own research then when you have a problem with some code post back

Your question is nor clear. There are two articles linked on my sig, please read that - both are worth reading. Easy option to implement search is maintaining an index table where you have all the text to be searched is present.

The best way to amend your code to get it to work is to comment bits out and work your way through it.
I guess that it has something to do with one of your database driven controls i.e. dropdownlist.

Goto www.paypal.com website and get a account as a merchant account and there itself they are providing Buttons which redirects your customers to their page. Its very easy to incorporate ur page with them if u know HTML.
Your site (while online payment)
|
|
v
paypal.com(payment happens here)
|
|
v
your customer would be redirected to
your site after the payment has been made.

Use Events. Hook the event from your code behind file, call this event when the button is clicked.

This won't work until you create a concrete class for this abstract class. I think you can remove the mustinherit from here.

Hi
I am wondering what the best way is to access jscript from within an ascx control?
If you have a button or another object; then you can simply use one of the pre - existing attributes such as for instance "onclientclick" to access your script.
Another way would be to fire another controls event that we use as a caller - object. Maybe change the style of the control to "style = "display:none" or something like that, then just call its event to trigger execution.
I am uncertain as to how this method works. The ascx is part of html page so maybe because the ascx is parsed in the html - parent; one could reference that page and point to the script that contains the code that we wish to execute.
If someone could please give me an example of how this would work; it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking you in advance

There is no such thing as an ascx on the client side, it's code is just part of the html that's generated. So, any script that is included in the page, you can call from the control.

I have created a web application and have included the web.config settings pertaining to custom errors. I have turned it on and specified mapping of error pages to some HTML status codes. It works fine when I trigger the error from Visual Studio 2008, however, when deployed to an IIS 6.0 server, I tried to trigger the same errors but I got the error pages that belonged to IIS 6.0 error pages instead. I noticed some settings when I used the inetmgr to look at how I can configure IIS 6.0 not to use their custom error pages for my web application and use mine instead?

hi frnds,
I am seeing unusual memory spikes in my application. When tried to debug its due to one page where memory usage increases drastically on selection change of a drop down.
While trying debugging I could debug till Page_Prerender. But memory usage starts jumping after Page_Prerender.
there is no Page_Unload method called. what else could be running after that eating all my memory??
any thoughts?
Keep DotNetting!!

The actual HTML is generated after prerender.

If we need to increase the height of the dropdown list first set the font size.
ex: say 'ddlTest' is the id of the control then
ddlTest.Font.size = 20;
ddlTest.Height = 600;

Hi,
I apologize if this is a stupid question, I'm new to asp.net. Is this code not allowed?
I don't get an error, but it seems that the code that i have in the external vb file which is inside a Page_Load sub does not execute.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance -> Frank

No, you cannot. The script tag is for client side script, it has nothing to do with what runs on the server. I recommend doing some reading on HTML, that's all this is.

Thanks for the reply. That was what I suspected, just needed confirmation. However, the script tag is not just for client side scripts, it can be used to run scripts on the server via the "runat" attribute. this is what caused my confusion since I have only used it to run client side scripts in the past, but I've seen some asp.net practices that use it to run some event handling scripts on the server side. In fact, this whole thing started when I was trying to move a script that handles the Page_Load event from within the page to an external file.
thanks again.

I'm in the process of converting a web application from .NET 1.1 to 2.0 using VS 2005. The web app is installed using a Setup & Deployment project, which works fine. However, when the application is uninstalled the virtual directory is not deleted, only the physical directory. The virtual directory appears in IIS, but an error icon is displayed next to it when an attempt is made to view the properties. Apparently, because a physical directory no longer exists. I then have to manually delete the virtual directory. This is not an issue with the .NET 1.1 based program.
I've found a few message posts on various websites about this issue, but there are no solutions.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Paul Mac

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how can I show label inside a RadiobuttonList . I want to show some message next to each option.
Example: 0 With login
Choose this opton if you do ..
0 Without Login
Choose this option if you do...
Continue
I can do this using Radiobutton then label then Radiobutton.... but I have to validate at server side... I want to validate at client...That's why I wanted to use previous one "RadiobuttonList".
Thanks inadvance.

You're going to have to bind to a set of strings that render the way you want, you can't use the list control AND insert something between each line. You COULD use a repeater to define a table that looks like this, that may be your best bet.
