We declare an array as
int arr[] = new int[5]; // <---a
now can we also declare the same array as
int[] arr = new int[5]; // <---b
Are both declaring the same array, or is there a diffrence in them?

Its incorrect syntax. How can you declare array like this?

well i think i got a little confused,
that i had read in a code written in java, & hadn't check with
c#. So, thats y i ask the question.
int[] arr = new int[5]; // is the correct way.
thanks for ur reply.

Creating arrays in C# has different syntax than other languages.
In C# it's like this:
int[] array = new int[5];
In other languages, like C, it's like this:
int array[5];

1. Use System.Diagnostics.Process class to start Paint.net and pass the path to your image as arguments.
2. The Process object allows you to associate an event handler that triggers when Paint.NET closes. In this event, load the file back into your application.

Please don't be desperate. Take your time, and study the documentation for System.Diagnostics.Process. If you see 10 posts below, someone has posted code using this method to start WinRar. It is more gratifying when you find the answer yourself than when someone else does it for you.
The key to knowledge is not to rely on people to teach you it.

i refer to this book-'visual c# 2005 how to program'(pearson international edition)
//the program to loads data for the rows with the specified last name into the addressbookDataSet.Address table
private void findButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
//fill the DataSet's DataTable with only rows containing the user-specified last name
addressTableAdapter.FillByLastName(addressBookDataSet.Address, findTextBox.Text);
}
but when i implement this coding to my program error happens:
private void enterButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
this.rEGISTERTableAdapter.FillByRFID(this.rFIDdbDataSet.REGISTER, this.rfidTextBox.Text);
}
it said:-Error-1 No overload for method 'FillByRFID' takes '2' arguments
I've already added query to the table adapter using the instruction in the book,i really don't understand why this error happens

Intellisense will tell you how many arguments it should be expecting. What does it say ?

It just happens. Hit the comma and it will pop up and show you the method signature. Even when you type the opening brackets, it should appear. You can also right click and choose 'go to definition'

I need to know where the taskbar is in my C#, WinForms app. I tried googling as well as searching the MSDN for something useful but nothing came up apart from that:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb787949(VS.85).aspx[^]
and I don't know what's the easiest way insert WinAPI code into a C# application. Or perhaps there's a better way?
TIA,
Greg

The easiest way to use WinaApi in C# is P/Invoke[^]

It depends what you're wanting to do with it, as different things will require different API calls. Have a look at pinvoke.net[^]. They have C# examples for nearly everything!

Maybe you could use the difference between the Bounds and WorkingArea of the Screen object to locate the task bar.

I've searched everywhere, and this looks like the code i used to use before i stopped coding and started school work.
Form1 form = new Form1();
form.Show();
but now it will not open my second form that i am making in conjunction with this project.
Error 1 Cannot implicitly convert type 'WindowsFormsApplication1.Form2' to 'WindowsFormsApplication1.Form1' C:\Documents and Settings\Nick\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\Project\Project\Form1.cs 44 26 Project
This is the error message I keep getting, i made sure the second form name was Form2 as well to make sure nothing was messing up.
|
|
|
|
|
Form2 form2 = new Form2();
form2.show();
assuming second form is called Form2 and in the same namespace.

Thanks for your help. I remembered what it was just not how to use it.
P.S. you were close,
Form2 form2 = new Form2();
form.show();
is the right way ^_^

No, that's utterly broken. Your form2 instance is never shown, you're showing a different form entirely. What is form2 for ?
Oh, and never create local variables and then show them modelessly ( show ). Use showdialog, or use member variables.
