If it was made invisible in the server side code, you cant with javascript, but if it was made invisible with javascript or defaulted that way in the html i belive you can with either
document.getElementById("controlName").style.display ="block";(makes visible) or document.getElementById("controlName").style.display ="none";(makes invisible. on some controls there is actually a visible property that can be set to true or false, but i dont think thats supported by all browsers. style.display seems to be the most compatible way to do it.

Hi, I am new to programming. I am Using Visual Web Developer 2005. After i exported the Internal Search Engine, SearchDotNetXml file, it says after conversion
SearchDotnetXML.vbproj:(Error List)
Conversion Issues - SearchDotnetXML.vbproj:(Error List):
ERROR: The following files were not migrated because they were not found in the project file or the associated 'BuildAction' is set to 'None'. You may need to exclude these files from the project after the conversion process in order to compile your web site: File List == sites\post.aspx.
So what do i have to do with post.aspx page?
and it says the Build action is set to None. If i have to change please giude me how do i do it?

iam using a check box in a grid view which is a html control how i can get the checked box is checked or not usign code behind

Dear All,
I have an grid and in that a cell has a button and by clicking on it it has to show a modal popup.
While binding the data in the grid I iterated the rows and took the butotn control and assigned an event handler in which I have written the code to show the modal popup.
But it is giving the error related to event violation.
But for link buttons it is working fine.
Can any one help in this regard?

i am filling the other textbox's by fetching data from database and then filling on this perticular textchanged event.
so in javascript i cant do all this.so any other suggestion please.if u have some examle let me know

I have used frames in my page i wanna dynamically load frame
For this i used this code in code behind

It gives error that
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I noticed that you are trying to assign frame control in Form control.
Dim fram As New System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlForm
fram = CType(Me.FindControl("lower_frame"), HtmlControl)
(1) You can use by make it as runat server
or
try this:
Dim frame1 As HtmlControl = CType(Me.FindControl("frame1"), HtmlControl)

n used this

but still facing the same problem....
