All of a sudden, the novice user has changed his username to bright bold red. Is there a plan to control the HTML in Usernames at least till Silver?

Unfortunately this has already bitten another CPian. I think this should be fixed immediately.

Save yourself some work and just strip it all from member's names.

I disagree. I'd rather continue working to allow members some latitude while preventing abuse.
I hate 'lowest common denominator' solutions.

I am truly impressed by your commitment to your vision of the site. And it's obvious that your vision is successful.

Is it currently possible to go through the ASW but instead of posting the article, put it on hold, so it doesn't get displayed publicly, and you can go back and finish it later?

Something like Drafts right? I believe this was suggested a way back but may be currently on works.

Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. Thanks, I couldn't think of the proper name for it.

Not yet - but it's on the list. Sorry for taking so long to implement but we're juggling a lot at the moment!

Often articles in the needing approval queue have very poor o no explanation at all, their content is merely the attached code (the latter maybe actually interesting).
I think the authors are missing the target and I wonder what is the best way to let them know about.

This is going on my arrogant assumptions. You may have a superb reason why I'm completely wrong.

If you type a message at the bottom the author usually reads them and may/may not comment.

You're right, of course. Anyway, since it happens so often and, IMHO, is against article guidelines I was looking for a more general approach.

Personally for the users who basically use an "article" for a "test" or can't be bothered to fix the template sections the general approach should be to hunt them down and kick them where it hurts. But that's just me.

I know you're draconian.

The worst offenders may be reported as substandard.

The articles I mentioned are actually substandard (poor or no explanation), but maybe the code is indeed very interesting. What I mean we need a way to let the authors know they're making own goal.

I feel that in Events and Get-To-Gether forums there must be certain special extensions.
1) Till the date of the event, a full length discussion can be allowed.
2) After the event date, the following can be adopted:
(a) Lock the thread from further debating.
(b) Post the announcement [reply] thread in the context indicating that the event is complete with an optionally available URL from a weblog or the event organizer update.
Wouldn't this make the event forum more comprehensive collection of events?

Thank you. That would really enhance and extend the 'Get-To-Gether' forum as a quick lookup even after that particular event.

Let's say you are viewing an article that has many messages that span on multiple pages. If you wish to view messages on second page you click on '2'. After that the whole page is reloaded including the article and messages from second page appear. I think it would be better if the article didn't get reloaded and only messages changed. It would make loading messages on other pages quicker.
