Hey Parwej,
first of all, thanks for the help.
This is a way, but my situation is a bit different.
- The problem occurs in a select instruction, and not in the update process.
- I don´t use OLE DB Provider for SQL Server, but the generic OLEDB Provider, that works with all databases, like SQL Server, Oracle, etc...
But i´ll install that hotfix (just monday), and check if its solves the problem. I will post here the result, ok!
If anyone have another suggestion to help me, thanks in advance.

I recommend buying a basic book on web development, and ASP.NET, and reading it so that you have a rudimentary understanding of how it works. Otherwise, even if we answer you, you won't understand it.
If you prefer, you could google[^]

Please read this if you don't understand the answer I've given you
"also I don't think "TranslateOneToTwoBillion OneHundredAndFortySevenMillion FourHundredAndEightyThreeThousand SixHundredAndFortySeven()" is a very good choice for a function name" - SpacixOne ( offering help to someone who really needed it ) ( spaces added for the benefit of people running at < 1280x1024 )

The value of session variable persist until the project
means we can use the value of session variable anywhere in the project

sorry but still don't get it

session["sessionvariable"]=textbox1.text;
for accessing this session variable use
string var=session["sessionvariable"].tostring();

Is there anything in the toolbox I can use to create a sidebar in my page, or will I have to hand code the html for it?
You know, every time I tried to win a bar-bet about being able to count to 1000 using my fingers I always got punched out when I reached 4....

I think the easiest way to accomplish that is to use an HTML Table in your aspx with two or more columns. You could accomplish this with div tags and css but that's more difficult.

ah thanks. Calling my html skills dangerous would probably be overstating it a bit so I'll be going with option number one.

So is there any way I can convince VS that I really want to drag/drop controls into the cells using the design view instead of by editing the source?

The table solution's a lot fuglier than I thought it'd be. In addition to not being able to drag/drop controls into a cell, if you edit them in via html you can no longer access with the properties in the designer.

Are you using vs2003 or something? You can drag it right into the cell.
<table style="width: 100%; border: none;" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td style="width: 30%; text-align:left; vertical-align:top;">
PUT SIDE CONTENTE HERE
</td>
<td style="width: 70%; text-align:left; vertical-align:top;">
PUT MAIN CONTENT HERE
</td>
</tr>
</table>

No, I'm using 08. I can drag it into the table via the source view. The problem is that after I do that I can't access the anything I dragged into the cell in the designer to edit it's properties without dragging it back out.

Are you sure? just select the control from the list on the properties tab...

Doh!
Don't use the asp:table. It is almost useless...
You can always ad runat=server to any table td or tr tag anyway. I never understood the point of the asptable.

If it wasn't broken in a stupid fashion it'd facilitate drag and drop programming even more. I'm 14hrs into my 1st asp.net project and I've only had to write a single line of C#, and aside from the table I haven't had to touch the html either.

LOL at one line of code. When 2.0 first came out I tried to write an app using as little code as possible. It worked but it is just easier to do things via code when you get good at it.

I'm sure I'll be adding a bit more later but this is internal only and the owner just wants 'better than access forms' functionality, so there's probably not going to be much in the way of clever willing to be paid for.

You need the runat="server" attribute for that I think.

Suppose if we are adding any image in the webpage, and when we view that page in the browser,when we mouse over that image we will get 4 icons Save,Print,Email and Open Folder.Is there any way to hide these icons from the browser.

Hello,
I am writing a c# asp.net application.
I have a gridview in which i am using a numeric paging mechanism with previous and next button.
I would like to add a textbox where the user can enter the exact page number he whishes to move to and moving to that page by pressing a button or by pressing "enter".
I would like it look like: textbox (where the user enters the page number) "out of 46" (for example)
Pls suggest some solution or provide me some example or link through which i can get my work done.
Regards,
Pranav Dave

This is a easy way, Just set grid view page index with that text box values.
Before doing that, ensure that entered cound should be numeric and less or equal to total no of pages in grid view.
