You can't do that. It depends on the client's settings. Giving "mailto" in links will open the default mail client on the client machine and not outlook express always.

Put a literal controls and write the text to it.

I've a textbox in an User Control and i want to use the text or value of that Text Box in my web page without including that User Control in my web page
|
|
|
|

Do you really mean you don't want to use the user control? Or do you just mean you don't want the user control to be visible to the user?
If you want to transfer the value of a text box in the user control then you are going to need that user control. There is no getting around that. However, I suspect that all you really want is for the user control to be invisible. In which case you want to set its Visible property to false .

That does not answer my question.
Assuming you still have the user control, then create a property on the user control. In the getter of the property return the Text value of the TextBox.

Hello,
I've already created a property as given below but it's not letting me to return the TextBox(TextBox1) value
public class A
{
public string myProp
{
get
{
return --------;
}
}
}

I am using iframe like this:-
can i pass some value from iframe to my page using java script?
|
|
|
|
|
Yes, you can.
Try the below,
var ifrm = document.getElementById('<<YOUR IFRAME>>');
ifrm.contentWindow.myvalue = 'sample';
|
|
|
|
|
Use the window.parent property to access the parent window from the iframe.
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.

Sumit,
Guffa is right...
Use
window.parent or document.parent to pass values from iframe to the parent window.
I misunderstood the question and given solution to pass values from the parent to the Iframe content.
Sorry..

Hi all,
Can any one plz suggest me how i can delete my temporary internet files
within my Asp.net page. I am using C# as the code behind lang.
Indeed, i have flash inserted on my .net page, which in turn gets its
values from the xml file which gets generated at the run time according
to the selection of the user in a DropDownList. I want to delete the
flash from the "temporary internet files " folder so that on each
combobox selection, the user must get the new version of the flash.
I am using the following code.
HttpContext.Current.Response.Cache.SetCacheability (HttpCacheability.None)
It is not working, Please suggest where i can use exactly in c#, the above code.
I would be grateful if some one could suggest a workaround!!
Thanks and Regards
Sreetak

That would delete the temporary files from the server, which is totally useless in your case.

Add the current time to the url of the flash file to keep it unique. That way the browser can't use the file in the cache.

I'm sure that it works just fine, but again it's useless in your case. It keeps the page itself from being cached, not the files that the code on the page loads.

Hello
I want to export the value of my text boxes and combo boxes and other to an prepared excel shee
Thanks in advance for your help

You Can export the value in excel Sheet:
You are required to keep textboxes and Combo boxes value in any container like dataset or array List .....and assign these source to GridView.
For example:
string s = "select * from person";
DataSet ds = GetDataSet(s);
GridView1.DataSource = ds;
GridView1.DataBind();
Response.ContentType = "application/ms-excel";
Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "inline;filename=ExcelRPT.xls");
Good Luck !

hai friends
the following are problems/doubts in asp.net
1)in web.config i given session timeout=20
then after 20 min. session will expired
is it correct
if so, how can we know programatically the session is expired
depending this i will redirect the user to a new page
2)i m doing on line booking site for a client
he given a image which contains 900 boxes with numbering
if the user books 1 box then the box with corresponding number 1 will turn into red color
my client wants to place "buttons" at the respective boxes at designing time and at run time it should turn into red
now my main doubt is...
if we place 900 buttons does the page performance will be reduced...
is there any alternative for this ...
plz help me
thanks in advance

For your first question,
You need to have a Session variable when the Session is started like Session("IsUserLoggedIn") and set a value. When the Session expired, Session("IsUserLoggedIn") will be Nothing. Now you can say the session expired.

The performance depends on the what the button do when they are click (both on client and server-side). Placing that much controls will look odd. May be you can try with tables and tds.
