At the moment I have the following message appearing on every article that I view on the site:
"You have coupons worth $299.00, some or all of which will expire in 41 days. Click here to find out more."
Not only will I not use this coupon (because I am not an employer, not because it is not a neat idea), but it is notifying me 41 days before it expires. Would it be possible to shorten the period of notifications to maybe 15 or 30 days? Or could you even add an option next to each coupon for whether their should be a notification for it or not.
Regards,
Thomas Stockwell

Yeah - I'm tweaking this right now, both the timing and the placement.

What are the Terms of Use for the coupons? Can we sell them?

How you currently are doing the coupon notifications is perfect. I do not mind the notification in the Announcements pane on the left. Great Job Chris!

Hi,
I am missing the buttons "good/bad question/answer" and the "1 to 5" buttons in all messages in forums (VC++, this one, lounge, coding horrors and maths and algorithms so far, I have not checked out all forums). I am loged in (I can see "My settings" and "My bookmarks"). Is that a site bug? A missing option for my account? Should I make anything in my settings?
I have checked with IE 7 and with Firefox 2.0.0.14.
Thanks
EDIT/ADD: I have read David Crow's message[^] about the missing "quote text" button. I am having the same problem as well but the message[^] was not downvoted as the reason he suggested in his explanation.
Regards.

Yes. If not logged in I can not answer. If I can't answer... how do I know that "quote" is missing? (not being sarcastic, just explaining)
I am the whole morning answering messages without problems, so the session didn't expire but buttons are still missing. I can copy/paste your questions here on the answer page, but can not quote it. I am making a bitmap to upload. I will post you the link afterwards.
Regards.

Now I am connecting at home at it is solved. Did you change anything? Or can it be a problem with a domain policy in the firm?
Anyways... thanks

I was just about to ask: Do you have Javascript enabled? That sounds like the problem.

AFAIK yes, I didn't change anything in computer options. Maybe is a policy of the domain server in the firm. I will check on monday. Thank you

I'm getting serious problems when using the CodeProject using Internet Explorer 7. There are many issues including:
- No "New Message" button in forums.
- All posts always expanded.
- Missing "Layout" combo.
I have tried resetting IE (restoring all factory settings), deleting the cache, and so on.

This doesn't happen in Firefox or any other browser?
Can you send me a screenshot and/or 'View Source' dump to chris -at- codeproject.com? I'll dig in.
Unfortunately I've not seen or heard of this (that I can remember) before

Sorry, I missed a bit; It's doesn't happen in FireFox. As for other browsers I don't know as I only use FireFox 3 (preferred) or IE 7.

Did you get anywhere with this? As things stand the CodeProject is unusable when using IE (for me at least).

Got your email but have been slammed with a couple of other issues. I'm hoping to dig into it today to try and even get a hint of what might be going on. You are the only person who has reported these issues and I can't repeat the problem.

We made a small change to the forum system yesterday afternoon that may have caused some extra load. I'm just having another crack at optimising it a little right now.

Somehow somebody (pretty sure its Oakman) is abusing a flaw that allows people to create a new message in the personal forums. I am unable to remove this message, it is a top level message. It shouldn't be there.
