Virus scanner programs may provide some APIs which can be used to scan files through code. If you are looking for a free one, I don't think there would be one.

Hi , i have a problem . suppose that i have to purchase some items(a single entity) and a group (contain another group or items) , and all items , nd group has unique serial no . let suppose i purchase 3 items
X(3) , y(2) , z(2) .. in this X is a group and in this group 2 items
X(3) ---> A(2) , B(1)
y(2) --> c(3) ,
Z(2) --> d(1)
suppose A is a group which further contains 3 items E(item)(2) ,
F(item)(1) , G(group)(1).
and may b there is onther group under G .
now i have to enter unique serial no. for every element .
(in brackets there is a quantity of a item or group)

If your items are represented by a class, adding a serial number property will do what you want. Beyond that, I'm not sure what you're asking, or how it relates to ASP.NET ?

What is it that is storing these numbers ? Where does the unique number have to come from ? Unique in what way ? Does it need to have a format ? Does it need to then be stored and found again later ? IS there a seperate sequence for each object ?

yes i have to store these no . every item has unique no (int) . that is inserted by us . insert all serial no . and then found later , when we click order .

By which I mean, do you have a list of objects which contains lists, do you have a data set, or where is this data coming from ?
If you order the same product again later, would it have the same number ? Or are you creating serial numbers for products at the point they are ordered ? How are they stored in the DB ? Why don't you give items a serial number as they come into stock ?

group and items store in database . in page load one dropdownlist show all items and groupg together .
whenever i purchase a new prouct with no of quantity , i have to insert different unique serial no for every qty. and the main problem is this i dont knew the end point of particular item b'coz a group contains
another group and that contains another and so on ..

Your question is still not clear. You can use identity columns to create a unique number for each row. Is this what you are looking ?

Hi,
In the GridView design mode, there is a small arrow sign, which allows you to perform GridView tasks from there when you do to Edit Columns, and select your CommadField it will list the available Commands under the Selected Fields Section. From there select the “Select” field and click on the “up” arrow, to get the order you want it to appear.

Thanks for your reply but I'm afraid that your suggestion is not what I'm looking for.
I try to generate the commandField dynamically with all 3 commands in 1 field (edit, delete and select). In my case, the edit button always show up first, then the delete and select button.
I just wonder how to change that display order so I can place the select command at the beginning of that commandField.

Ok I have a google map on my page and there is a list of users in a drop down box. Is it possible to call a function ADDMARKER (javascript) to add a marker to the map? I know the listbox will have to postback to get the value.
The thing is, is that I have to use C# to get the users latitude and longitude. Mainly because all the code was written in VB and I have converted it to C#. Not sure how to convert it all to JavaScript.
Here is my function I need to call from javascript:

Here is what is happening in the code behind on SelectedIndexChanged:

This should work, I've done exactly the same thing with google maps in ASP.NET/C#. One thing you may want to remember is, when you do a postback, any script you inserted before is lost, and new script is added only if this event is fired.
Overall, it makes sense to make this an AJAX call that adds a marker after getting whatever data you want from the back end. Google maps are so AJAXy that any sort of postback is going to stick out like a sore thumb.

I couldnt get that to work... anyways I found an application here on codeproject that pretty much made google maps all in C# instead of javascript.. works great for now!

Yeah, I think I found that same one, when I considered posting the one I wrote. Of course, it just takes care of generating the javascript for you, but that's what's great about CP, you don't need to reinvent the wheel. I'm glad it worked out for you.
