I want turn on my smartphone's flashlight by programming...
help...thx
|
|
|
|
|
I don't think that flashlight is a standard device for a smartphone.
The implication is that there is no "function" in WM5.0 SDK.
The only possible solution is to turn toward the manufacturer and ask for appropriate SDK (or "function").
P.S. Recently I had to do printing trough mobile and found that printing is not part of WM5.0. I took SDK from the manufacturer and it worked.

Hi
I am working on the multi language support for a mobile application targeted for WM5.0 and WM6.0 devices. The localization resources dlls work good when I test application in debugging mode, but it poses problems when I deploy using the cab files.
I have included the localization resources for the application in the cab setup project but it seems that when the localization resources dlls get corrupted when deployed through the cab set up project, because the size of the dlls is not the same when deployed on the device in debugging mode and through cab installer.
Kindly tell if I am missing something.
Thanks in Advance

Dear All,
SetLocalTime API is working fine in Win Mobile 5.0.But SetSystemTime is giving a time diff of eight hours ahead.I am working on Win Mobile 5.0 SDK platform.
Please help....

Didn't I see this question in the Visual C++ forum too?
Naughty Arun.
The answer there was that the two functions are different, and if you read the definition, SetSystem using UTC (an american way of saying GMT). I suspect you have a +/-8 hour timezone set for your Mobile device.

Plz sir... CPallini CPallini abuz drugz, plz plz help urgent.

Hey Guys,
I would like to add some very industry specific entries to the autoprompt that comes up when using the virtual keyboard on a windows mobile device. I was wondering if anyone could point me to examples or documentation that relates to modifying the list of autoprompted words...
Thanks in advance,
Ryan

Hi all,
I have developed a simple software for a WM5.0 device that makes the
following operations:
- creates a GPRS and VPN connections through the DMProcessConfigXML API.
- opens the VPN connection through the OpenNETCF ConnectionManager.
- launch the TelnetCE software using the System.Diagnostics.Process class e
using the WaitForExit method.
- when the TelnetCE is closed, my software closes all connections through
the ConnectionManager Disconnect method.
Since the connection manager doesn't close all the opened connections, the
software must use the RasHangUp API.
The problem is that the device becomes unusable when the first RasHangUp is
called on the first opened connection (got through the RasEnumConnections
API).
Switching off and switching on the device, the RasHangUp API seems to
continue its work but the system connections are unusable anyway.
Only after a softreset the connections become usable.
If my software launch another application instead of TelnetCE, the problem
doesn't occur.
Can TelnetCE lock the connection even if it is closed?
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks in advance
mauro
PS: My disconnect methods
private static void disconnect()
{
if (_connectionManager != null)
_connectionManager.Disconnect();
_connectionManager = null;
Thread.Sleep(5000);
hangUpExistingConnection();
}
private static void hangUpExistingConnection()
{
int conns = 0;
RASCONN[] ras = new RASCONN[256];
ras.Initialize();
ras[0].dwSize = Marshal.SizeOf(typeof(RASCONN));
int lr = ras[0].dwSize * ras.Length;
int ret = RasEnumConnections(ras, ref lr, ref conns);
for (int i = 0; i < conns; i++)
{
try
{
RasHangUp(ras[i].hrasconn); // Execution stops here.
Thread.Sleep(3000);
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
showErrorMessage(ex); // No errors occured
}
}
}

I think you need to check the ras device name before hanging it up, by using RasGetConnectStatus. Normally the data connection is named "Cellular Line". Don't hang up other connections with different name.

Hi guys,
I'm using Visual Studio 2005, and every time when I use a function from aygshell.h I receive:
error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol __GSHandlerCheck
Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK (ARMV4I)\Debug/Trayapp.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 1 unresolved externals
Do you have any clues why is this error and how to fix it?
P.S. I'm writing in C++ native for mobile, without .Net. What bothers me is that the same result is coming when I try to compile Mobile SDK 5.0 samples that are using aygshell.h.

thank you very much Cédric, thank you!!!
Actually it worked but in reverse - I had to turn Off /GS
For all that have the same problem (basically all that have VS2005 SP1 and are making WM5.0 in native):
- add /GS- to C/C++ command line
or
- C/C++ -> Code Generation -> Buffer Security Check: No

How do i find a resource type? EnumResourceTypes apparently doesn't exist on the Mobile API, so is there an alternate approach? I have the name of the resource I'd like to load, but I don't know the type. Alternately I could just try FindResource() and keep guessing the type till I either get a handle back or don't find anything, but that doesn't cover custom types.

Hi,
can anyone tell me of an easy way to check if the win form app I've developed for XP would work on CE if I complied it with the right complier?
I'm using .net 2.0 and just want to check if it would work for CE
Thanks

Depends on a number of things, mostly if you used:
- p/invoke (not all Native calls port directly over to WinCE and/or Windows Mobile)
- .NET 2.0 Compact Framework compatible class/methods in your XP application
Also you need to have greater than or equal to the professional version of Visual Studio 2008.
If you meet the above then it will be REAL easy to port it to WindowsCE/Windows Mobile.
If you don't meet the above then it is undetermined how long it'll take you. Depending on what your app is doing and settings you need it could be easy as changing one p/invoke call to near impossible to port over.

You can use FTP for transferring files and also get the size of the file by sending the SIZE command to the FTP server.
