What view settings are you using (layout, datefilter)?
Found the issue: turns out we've had to do some DB work in preparation for a new toy which has temporarily put extra load on the site. Should be over in a few minutes

I had the Date Filter set to "Last 3 Months". Then I noticed that when I clicked on a Lounge post (from the main page) that the Date Filter was set to "All". So I changed the Date Filter to "All", clicked Set Options, and now the Lounge loads in a few seconds.
Maybe you should make "All" the default, if it makes that much difference?

Just got the word that everything should no be fine which is probably what you were seeing. Can you try on '3 months' again? (It's actually better for our servers )

OK, now "3 Months" is about 3 seconds to load.
Why does clicking on a Lounge post (on the main page) default to "All" instead of your personal setting?

Still pining for the fjords.
Today's lesson is brought to you by the word "niggardly". Remember kids, don't attribute to racism what can be explained by Scandinavian language roots.

Hmm. Still trying to get to the bottom of this one.

I think, the reason you do not see the link,
is because you do not have any article recomendations.
The feature is still under development. Stay tune.

Eh? I have over a page of article recommendations (which do show up), and a small but growing collection of forum message bookmarks (which do not!).
Er, but i did mean forum message recommendations, not forum recommendations. I'd forgotten that it was possible to recommend forums; either way, i don't particularly care about those. The message recommendations i'd expect to work though.
Along those lines: author names in forum message recommendations link to the author's article list rather than their bio or message list; i did not expect that.

Works fine for me here.
Are you logged in?
If yes, all your bookmarks (both recommended and not) will appear.

Ah... Let me be a bit more specific. I can see all of my bookmarks. If i'm not logged in, i can see all of my recommended bookmarks - including forum message bookmarks - by viewing the bookmarks list.
However, if i view my profile page, only recommended article bookmarks are listed in the "Latest Recommendations" section on the right-hand side of the page. Forum message bookmarks do not appear, regardless of whether or not i'm logged in.
To be sure, it's a small matter... but i'd expected recommendations to appear in that list in the order they were recommended, regardless of the specific type of recommendation.

Ok, now I understand what you mean. Again, as I said, this is under development
and will get better soon.

It works fine here.
Can you try again, please.
If it is still not working, let me know, what page exactly you try to open,
and what error messages you get.
Thank you in advance.

I am afraid, it is an IE thing. Same happens to me from time to time with different pages, not only CodeProject related ones
What version of IE you have?
It seems to be a Javascript problem. Added to our bug list for further investigation.
Thanks for reporting.
Can you check it with FireFox?

Elina

Looks like IE might be the problem
Firefox at home works fine...
Thanks

I use IE6 at work. As I said in my earlier message, it works fine for me at home, using FF 2.
Thanks for looking into this.

I've put a workaround in place for IE6. A quick check showed nothing blatently obvious so we'll just disable Google Maps in IE6 for now until we get a chance to do a comprehensive reworking.

Just when I got used to this happening only on Tuesdays.

I see the same questions being asked on forums. It occurred to me that if they were added to a FAQ for each forum with the best answers, it would:
1. Reduce the volume of questions in the forums,
2. Avoid wasting peoples' time by repeatedly giving similar answers to the same questions, and
3. Provide a resource where people could get answers without having to compose a question, and wait to see if anyone answers it.
Sometimes I see an interesting question and even more interesting answers, but I don't copy it because I don't have that problem at the time. Later I do have that problem, but the item is months or years old, and hard to find.
It would take a bit more work, but in addition to helping people it would provide another set of pages for codeproject.com to sell advertising space on. After a couple of years, each FAQ could even be published as a book.
Peoples' answers on these forums are a valuable resource, and include wisdom gained from experience that you often can't get in a book!
