Just add the web service as a web reference to your project, and it creates a class that you can use to call it.

Try replacing libmysql.dll (located in your PHP directory) with the latest version from http://www.php.net/releases/.
Hope this helps,

Hi!!
Actually i want to provide my users a link from where they can download documents.
The link to download the document will be sent in their inbox.
What should I do to generate a random ..url everytime depending uopn the document he/she wants to download.
Apart from this the URL should only be active for a particular period of time.
Regards
Mrinal

First, the Guid.NewGuid().ToString() provides a pretty unique string, you can store that in a database and make sure you known what file should be downloaded when a user hits that url...
then send a mail with an url containing that guid
http://www.yourwebsite.com/?download=your-guid
if the user hits the page you can return the requested file, since you know (int your database) what file to return for this specific string and even monitor that the file download has started....
Then after a certain amount of time disable that unique string or even remove if from your database if you're sure the download will complete succesfully.

Hi folks,
A few of you may remember that I announced the loss of my website virginity a few weeks ago.
www.ozfarmguide.com. I invited you all to have a look at it and I improved the site from your suggestions.
All was going swimmingly until...
I tried to use one of the many fileupload controls in the admin section on my site.
It doesn't work! None of them do!
The application crashes as the server just can't find the file I'm looking for.
e.g
System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\Fred\Desktop\cherries.jpg' .
I'm 99% sure there is nothing wrong with my code. Everything was working perfectly locally.
Has this ever happened to any of you?
I'm absolutly stumped and without this functionality my site s useless!
Thanks
ps.please don't chastise me for this.

No programming questions in the Lounge!!
There, now that I have said that, have you checked that the path and file actually exist? Clearly you need to upload the file to some directory relative to your virtual directory (that holds your website). I'm pretty sure that your webserver doesn't have the directory:

I know, I know, I know....... I feel guilty typing this.
I'm not actually using postedfile.save to save the file to a directory. The binary data gets resized, converted to system.data.linq.binary and eventually moved to the database. It's not a permissions issue with the database cos I dont get that far.
My latest effort is here:
http://www.codeproject.com/script/Forums/View.aspx?fid=12076&msg=2657779[^]
The resize stuff is further up. I tried it without that and it still didn't work.
I'm off to flagellate myself now.......

Hint: This error also means that the user does not have access to the path. The user in this case being teh user under whose context IIS service is running.

So you're (admin) on my server does not have access to the path on my computer??
So it's a permissions issue??
I picked up my first book on asp.net a few months ago. I am a total beginner so was feeling quite happy with myself until this happened.
I have googled the crap out of this and am not getting anywhere.

No, the server can't access your local PC (at least in the sense of going to c:\users\fred\blah bah)... you need to have code in place to upload the file to the server then do whatever you want with it...

When reading that, i became 99% sure that there was something wrong with your code, and that what's wrong is that you are trying to access the file that was uploaded instead of the uploaded data stream.
The only reason that it worked locally, is that the server and client happened to be the same computer.

Hi,
I want to add content dynamically to a DIV. What is the difference between using document.createElement() to add content or just adding the HTML using the div's .innerHTML property? I assume this is easier but am I missing something?
Thanks in advance,

One creates an element. The other parses a text representation of a HTML fragment and inserts it in place of an element's current children.
One lets you create elements in a clear, controlled, and generally verbose fashion. The other allows / requires you to create a string representation of what you want.
One is an existing standard[^]. The other is a proposed standard[^] (based on a common - but non-standard - implementation).
In practice, which one you should use really depends on what you're trying to do...

Thank you is it considered bad practice to use the .innerHTML method because using the document.createElement() method would require a lot of code as lots of elements are created, all with different styles etc.
Thanks for your help,

It really does depend on what you're doing. innerHTML is rather widely supported, so if you need it i wouldn't worry about using it. It can be cleaner and faster than trying to build a large or complicated DOM fragment using other methods. It can also degenerate into a mess of string manipulation complete with subtle errors that only show up on certain browsers due to the various methods used to "correct" invalid HTML.

Ah yes I see your point, it can get messy, especially when the browser tries to close tags, for example

Hi All,
I am looking for some advice/direction on software documentation, i work as the only developer in a very small company, its my first job after college so i have no real documentation experience and the company is new so basically there is none at the moment. I am developing a web app using C#, ASP.Net, VS2008 and SQL Server 2005 and have spent the last week trying to find info on where to start but no luck, so im just wondering if anyone could give me some advice or point me in the direction of some examples or anything really.
Thanks in advance
Tim

I can't understand how that could happen unless you explain "how" you have been trying.
Where to start is a tough ambiguous problem. As a wild guess where a good place for "you" to start, I would offer this[^]. It has a link to a PDF so I assume you will have no problem viewing the document.
Any future questions about documentation or process should probably go in the General Discussion forum.

If you're wondering why your question got marked down it's probably because of essay-sized title and ugly code-dump.
Without paying any attention to your code or what you are trying to do, the error message tells you everything you need to know. On line 40 of the code (whichever that is, I'm not figuring it out from here) something is trying to access the 'cat' element of an array. This element doesn't exist, hence the error.
