Ok,
Most of the settings can be configured during silent installation. The key is TEMPLATE.INI-file. Have a look at this article http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144259.aspx[^].
I don't remember if all of the things you wanted to do are possible. For example login creation may not be possible, but you can always use a custom command line script, which first runs install and configuration and then use (for example) OSQL to create login silently.
Hope this helps,
Mika

I have one table and the columns are exactly as they should be. I am sent new data that needs to match the columns headings of this first table exactly. How do I create a sql query (it's really in Access) that does a quick compare and show me any differences or how the new violates the standard?

By violates do you mean violates a foreign key?
|
|
|

There are no keys. I simply want to check the column headings with a table we know is correct with the new incoming table. How does the new table (if at all) differ from the standard (I know the columns are right) table.

I use ado _RecordsetPtr to get an item from oracle database using GetValue()to read a field named Source which is of varchar2(10) datatype.
variant_t vtSource = rst->Fields->GetItem("SOURCE")->GetValue();
Can anyone show me sample code on how to convert vtSource which is of variant_t data type to char* or char array or const char* or CString data type?

sir,
perhaps this version is not compatible with VISTA since when i run this, this system prompt me that this product has known comaptibility issue .Please suggest
|
|
|

Did you download SQL Express 2005 and not MSDE. MSDE is not compatible with Vista. For example I have SQL Server 2005 downloaded from there and I'm running it on Vista.
Also, are you sure that you don't have any earlier Beta or CTP versions of SQL Server 2005 or .NET framework 2.0? These are not compatible with the product version.
Here's another link directly to download page and information about installation.

If you can't figure this out you really shouldn't be writing code. Try Google.

I guess you're coding in C#.
Try
connstring = @"Driver={SQL Native Client};Server=myServerName\theInstanceName;Database=myDataBase;Trusted_Connection=yes;";<br />
<br />
or<br />
<br />
"Driver={SQL Native Client};Server=myServerName\\theInstanceName;Database=myDataBase;Trusted_Connection=yes;"

Hi,
I would guess that your master databes uses different collation than your database. To solve this try to use COLLATE keyword in update statement.
