Have you tried contacting Crystal Reports support?

Sorry jyn, crystal is such a POS that we moved to SSRS to get away from it.
I really think the only resource is giong to be CR support, it is a very new product and typically from CR bug ridden. Their support is abysmal, I recently got a follow up call from them - for a 9 month old request and we are considered a "strategic" customer.

I need to Sum Column J, Which may have a full compliment of data, only partially filled cells, or no filled cells at all.
I am activating the cell I need the Sum in, the telling it to Sum from the Cell above to the top of the form ("J5" in this example).
It is Crashing at the Range((ActiveCell.Offset(-1, 0)), "j5").Select point.
Range("I5").Select
ActiveCell.End(xlDown).Activate
ActiveCell.Offset(2, 1).Activate
Static SumOfDiscount
Range((ActiveCell.Offset(-1, 0)), "J5").Select
SumOfDiscount = Application.WorksheetFunction.Sum(Selection)
ActiveCell.Value = SumOfDiscount
Any ideas or pointers?

Try this:
Range((ActiveCell.Offset(-1, 0).Address), "J5").Select

I will try this
Thanks for the suggestion!

Hai,
I have to develop on Mail sending Application using ASP.Net and C#.Net 2005 and database is MySql.The concept is as follows:
I have my own webspace and I need to run this application on my website. There will be database contains some few number of tables containing email ids in several category. For example, there are tables named Student,Managers,Programmers,.... In these tables releated field peoples maild id with their name will be stored. In my application there will be combo box which contains the database table name.
I just login to my website and attach the attachment file with the mail which is stored in the website itself and select the table name from the combobox. The email ids to which the mails have to send will be automatically selected regarding to the table name selected in the combobox.
And click the send button to send the mails with attachment with particular time interval between the mails.
Then I logoff from my website and shutdown my system.
The main concept of this appliation is that for sending mails the application should not use my bandwidth and it should use the bandwidth of webhosters where I had purchased my webspace.
I have doubts in using mailclasses and mailserver. What mailclass and mailserver I have to use.
So please guide me to develop this application.
Thanks in advance.

Well, it is practically not possible.

Hello Mr.Manas Bhardwaj,
Thanks for ur kind reply.I had some doubts. Don't consider as an argument.
If I log on to my website and run this application for sending a mail with attachment for 1000 email ids and immediately if logged off and closed my website, then what will happen to my application.
See login to website and run my application to send 1000 mails and logoff from the website will not take more that 5 minutes. But within 5 minutes all the 1000 mails will not be sent. It will take few hours to send all mails. So if i click logoff what will happen to my application.
Either it will keep on sending the emails OR at that point itself it stops sending the mails when i click the logout button.

This is neither a ASP.NET, C# or MySQL forum, so why are you asking your question here?

Thanks Mr.Steve Jowett for intimation. Initially I didn't see the title of the forum.I was searching something in vb.net forum. At that time itself I had submitted this question. Now u can see this in Asp.net forum also.

Problem: I need to be able to save printer and page settings to db and then apply them to a crystal report automaticly (at later point in time).
I'v been able to do this by serializing/deserializing the objects and then apply them to the crystal report.
This all works very nicly on XP
But on vista nothing of this seems to work, even worse if the user has set the print options (printersettings and pagesettings) on an xp machine and then try's to use them on a vista machine the programme craches completly (the other way around it keeps working ).
Question: how can I save 2 objects to db (system.drawing.printing.printersettings / system.drawing.printing.pagesettings) and then get them back from the db, wich is xp and vista compatible.
Or is there another (better) way to do this?
Google didn't help at all (this time)

What approaches have you tried doing besides serializing/deserializing?

First sorry for the late answer but I was on holiday for the past 10days
So far I have tryed saving only the printername (using default settings then) but this doens't give us enough control over the printing.
I'v tryed to save more settings (pages,marges,...) but then there is the problem what to save because there are alot printers out there with specific needs.
I haven't found any better way than to serialize the settings to have all the settings in one place
any idea's are welcome

hi all,
how can i perform extractaction and compression of files using vb.net (without WINZIP or WINRAR mean using windows Utility or something else)
|
|
|
|
|
Private Sub Compress(ByVal Filename As String)
Dim targetfile As String = IO.Path.ChangeExtension(Filename, "zdx")
Using sr As New IO.FileStream(Filename, IO.FileMode.Open)
Using sw As New IO.FileStream(targetfile, IO.FileMode.OpenOrCreate)
Using gZip As New IO.Compression.GZipStream(sw, IO.Compression.CompressionMode.Compress, False)
Dim buffer(sr.Length) As Byte
sr.Read(buffer, 0, buffer.Length)
gZip.Write(buffer, 0, buffer.Length)
gZip.Flush()
gZip.Close()
End Using
sw.Close()
End Using
sr.Flush()
sr.Close()
End Using
End Sub
Here is the code to uncompress,
Private Sub UnCompress(ByVal filename As String)
Dim targetfile As String = IO.Path.ChangeExtension(filename, "doc")
Using sw As New IO.FileStream(targetfile, IO.FileMode.OpenOrCreate)
Using sr As New IO.FileStream(filename, IO.FileMode.Open)
Using gZip As New IO.Compression.GZipStream(sr, IO.Compression.CompressionMode.Decompress)
Dim buffer(sr.Length) As Byte
gZip.Read(buffer, 0, buffer.Length)
sw.Write(buffer, 0, buffer.Length)
End Using
End Using
End Using
End Sub

i googled many sites but haven't yet found the solution, though have already known how to upload into the server.

1st Solution
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=asp.net+download+file[^]
Still, if you can not find than somewhat like this...
Response.ContentType = "image/jpeg";
Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition","attachment; filename=SailBig.jpg");
Response.TransmitFile( Server.MapPath("~/images/sailbig.jpg") );
Response.End();
