it goes in the URL yes. Then you use Request.QueryString["myVar"] to access it.

Pass value of txtSearch.text to another page
Response.Redirect("frmCreateAptForExistingClient.aspx?Parameter=" + txtSearch.Text)
'Receive value from another page and display in txtPhone.Text
Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load

Hi,
I m using third party grid control for displaying the bunch of records which i have placed in one form(previewform). and the link for this form is in another form.
when i click the link the preview from will get opened and in the form load i have written the code for fetching records.
now what i need is when i debug(using Break points) each line in the codei need to see the grid value,design changes how it is aligned .(since there is too many rows i need to scroll through out the grid). how can i do this in run time.
i actually try by using frm.show in the immediate window. i can see the grid but i can't able to scroll the grid. since it is still in running mode

If I corretly understand what you want to do, you can't do what you want to do. You're code isn't actually running when in Immediate mode. It runs through one iteration of the window's message pump, processing the WM_PAINT messages, but that's it. There is no opportunity for it to process SCROLL messages.
You'll have to make the changes, run the app to see them, go back and make more changes, run the app again, ...

I have no idea what you're talking about. Your statements are disconnected and don't make much sense at all.

how are you running it ? You're obvioulsy not running the version you build, or it's running the old version b/c of build errors but you're not seeing them

I run it in VS 2005 after i write code for showing the result.
So how can i see the error ? And what should i correct it ?

So you hit F5 ? What if you go to the folder and check the exe there ? Delete them all and then run, to make sure there's no old exe to be running ? Set breakpoints to make sure your code is running, and is not just working in a manner you don't expect ?

And what should i have to delete ? How can i know old exe is running ?
And about the breakpoints i made it but my code is not running. I think maybe that cause from that error.

Delete the exes, then you know they can't run. Your code problably doesn't stop because it's changed, something wrong with your config.

Hi Christian
I delete the exe in folder bin/debug and then i run my project again. In folder bin/debug has file exe i deleted again and the result still the same.
Are there any solution for it ?
I try to delete exes in folder bin/debug again but can not delete. Message altert that "Access is denied".
I close my project then delete them again. I can delete but when i open my project again then hit F5 them error show that " The type initializer for 'KDSHRGarment.PublicVariable' threw an exception. "
what's problem ?

If you delete and they reappear, then yuor app is running fine, your code has an issue. The error, I'm not sure, depends where this object is coming from. This sort of error usually means a broken config file IMO.

I want to read a file into a program bit by bit not by bytes. I attempted to use the binary reader it returned byte instead of bit. I don't really want an example as much as i would like to know the class or function i should be using to do so.
I don't know if maybe i need to convert the number returned by the binary reader to binary in order to do so. I would assume there is another way to do this.
The file types are all file types so i'm not talking about just text files. Images, executables, text files, ect. I would like to be able to read those bit by bit.
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know of any such class or function and I would be suprised if it is part of the standard .net library because computers are designed to work on whole bytes not bit by bit.

Computers always store numbers as binary so there is no need to convert anything. You can find out the bits by using 8 bitwise AND operation per byte. This example uses standard numbers but I would recommend you look up binary and bitwise operations so you can understand why this example works. It goes something like this:
result = byte AND 1
result = byte AND 2
result = byte AND 4
result = byte AND 8
result = byte AND 16
result = byte AND 32
result = byte AND 64
result = byte AND 128
Each time test if result is > 0. If it is then the bit is 1 if not then it is zero.
