You can go to my profile and see the usefulness of the posts. not many, but you will find places where my answers helped.
I could have helped you only if I understood your problem correctly. Don't you think that with the information you provide it would be difficult to get the answer?
The usefulness of the answer comes into picture, it is directly proportional to the complexity and explanation of the problem in your query.

you have some problem with showing something in Arabic language rite.
if some one here had an answer you would have got it in 1st post or 2nd surely.
I am not sure if it will help you but, There are some good localization articles here on CP, I dont know whether you have seen them.
Here are few of them.

http://www.codeproject.com/KB/locale/multilingual.aspx[^]
I hope it helps. and while posting please frame your query properly also with the background about what have you done so far it will help you in getting proper answer.

Yes I wrote similar questions but I coudn't get an answer.I am suprising to this because I asked several hard questions according to me to this forum and I got good answers until now.so I thought that the experts on visual c++ didn't see my question.But maybe I should try some other ways.
Thanks

Did you ever stop to think for a moment that those "hard" questions were: 1) not hard at all, or 2) posted at just the right time as to be seen by the majority? Posts go unanswered for many reasons.

Not sure what you mean by "change windows language". Do you want to change the system locale, user locale, input locale, thread locale or UI language?
Basically, you can programatically change only the thread locale, and for that you need to call SetThreadLocale function. The thread locale determines things like formatting of dates and currency for the thread.

Have you tried SetThreadLocale() ?

I tried that.But it doesn't change the language.I want that when I achieve to change the language, I would be able to write in arabic to an editbox after I changed the language from english to arabic.I can do that manually by changing the language of windows by tabbing to alt + shift.
Thanks

You probably did not set up your environment variables. There should be a batch file in your Visual Studio directory that you have to run first.

I Started a thread and wait for the thread to complete, and mean while callin DoEvents, since UI is getting frized even
the operation is performed in separted thread. WaitForSingleObject and the below code is not waiting till the completion of
the thread.
hThread=(HANDLE)_beginthreadex(0,0,WorkerThread,(void*) _param,0,0);
GetExitCodeThread(hThread,exitCode);
while(exitCode!=0)
{
DoEvents9();
GetExitCodeThread(hThread,exitCode);

ptr_Electron wrote: WaitForSingleObject doesn't work for waiting till the completion of the Thread
Yes, it does.
If you get stuck inside the call to ::WaitForSingleObject() it is due to the fact that the thread you're waiting for has not finished yet.
The presence of a call to AfxGetApp() , even though it's currently out-commented, suggests that you're using the MFC framework. If you're creating a thread that is supposed to work with the MFC framework you have to use AfxBeginThread() . The fact that you're not using AfxBeginThread() to start your thread could be what's causing the thread to not finish.
I strongly advise you to read this excellent article[^] before you continue.
Run your app in debug mode and put a breakpoint inside the thread controlling function to see what prevents it from finishing.
Also get rid of this polling technique (DoEvents), it doesn't belong in an event driving OS environment like windows. You should stick to the ::WaitForSingleObject() concept.

Hi,
I have created a dll which exports a factory function that returns an object
of the type of the dll class:
class CMyDll
{
Z();
X();
Y();
}
extern "c"
{
__declspec(dllexport) CMyDll* Factory();
}
The program that utilize the dll loads the dll calls the factory function and get the dll object. from that object i call the dll functions.
MyApp()
{
hmodule = AfxLoadLibrary(MyDll.dll);
typedef CMyDll* (*FACTORY )(void);
FACTORY pFunc;
pFunc = (FACTORY)GetProcAddress(hmodule,"Factory");
CMyDll *dllObj = pFunc();
dllObj->X();
dllObj->Y();
dllObj->Z();
}
But there is a problem , the functions are not called right, if i call
functions X,Y and Z, it calls functions Z,Y and X in a certain order which i
couldn't specify.
If someone spotted the source of the error please let me know
Thanks
Simon

what about this :
pFunc = (FACTORY)GetProcAddress(hmodule,"<code>_Factory</code>");
BTW, your code is not very secure, as you don't test hmodule before using it...

Where is the rest of the Factory() function, could be an allocation error.

Hi all, thanks for your answers.
The problem was that i declared a function in the interface as an int, but the implementing class declared the same function with an enum.
So when calling the function from the dll (which was the implementing class) the function was not found and another function was called.
______________
Interface
-x(int var);

______________
dll class
-x(enum var)

I am not sure anyone here or anywhere else will help you. Can you give a good reason to want to do this? The implications of such a request is for nefarious purposes only. Unless you have a really good reason to want to do this, please post it, and then you might get help.
