A cursory read of the iPhone docs would explain to you why what you want, is absolutely impossible. Tell me you didn't write a C# app solely b/c you hoped to magically get it onto an iPhone ? iPhone apps are written with XCode in Objective C. Even then, they are a nightmare to deploy.

Is there any way to make a method in WebService as default like
Say i have four methods in webservice which supports Get request .
Call to Method1 is like
http://Something.com/MyWebService/ServiceWS.asmx?op=Method1¶m1=101¶m2=12
client wants Method1 as default and should be called if the request is like
http://Something.com/MyWebService/ServiceWS.asmx?param1=101¶m2=12
op=Method1 needs to be removed from call
Thanks in Advance

Yes there are benefit, as per the design one method is generic which in turns call appropriate method based on a parameter value.
As much as use and context of webservice is consider its beneficial.

Hi, i have a gridview with two colums of data and for my requirement i need to select a record (using Selected Index of Gridview not with checkboxes)in Gridview and click on button submit which is outside of gridview. In javascript i need to check whether row has been selected or not when submit button is clicked. How can i get whether row has been selected or not? The button is outside of gridview.

By nature, Server Side and client side so not interact with each other. Its our( developers) job to make them communicate.
What you need to here is to pass the selected row id to the client. You can do this in number of ways like passing as hidden variable etc...

When you click the button, pass the selectedRowIndex of the grid using ClientScript.RegisterHiddenVariable

Hi,
We have a ASP.NET web setup project in VS 2005. And we have a requirement to be able to deploy it to IIS 7.0 not caring whether "IIS6 compatibility mode" is turned on or not.
Please advise:
1. Are there some free/paid installer software that support IIS 7.0 ?
--or--
2. Probably someone knows a solution for enabling "IIS6 compatibility mode" programmatically.
Thanks

Did you have a look at Visual Studio Setup Project Type.

i donr even know what is NaN
NaN stands for not a number.
You need to see whether the name you are passing is correct.

i am able to get date in the field while debugging but when assigning it to variable it giving value NaN.

it means you tried to divide by zero, or otherwise created an invalid value.

I guess you need to buy a javascript book then

Let me first say hello, as this is my first post to these forums.
My question is, say that I want to log an entry to a database through a stored procedure when a page is requested. The log is merely a counter for recording how often a page is being requested. This stored procedure may take longer than I would like to execute, and I do not want to affect the performance of the page. This page may also have page caching enabled.
So, I'm thinking there are two ways I can go about this. I could execute the SP asynchronously on the load event or I can execute the SP from the unload event after the page has rendered. I would think the unload event would make more sense since the load event will not fire if the page has been cached. But this leads me to my original question. Does the unload event fire when page caching is enabled? If not, is there a better way to log for pages that are being cached?
Thanks for your help.

Why dont you handle that event on a page with/without caching enabled and set a breakpoint and see if the breakpoint is hit
Then you could post your results
It would be good to know it

Oh sure, make me do the work.
I went ahead and tried it and the unload event did not fire if cached on the server side. I had a feeling it wouldn't, which is partly why I made the post. What techniques do others use to capture stats on cached pages? I was thinking of creating a 1x1 image file served by a generic handler to log page hits.
Are there any other/better ways to do it?

Just handle the beginrequest in the global.asax
I dont think a call to a stored procedure will take too much time
If you only want to count requests you can save a temp variable in the application object and save it on application end or every n minutes
Protected Sub Application_BeginRequest(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
'Do your stuff
End Sub
jrhea wrote: I was thinking of creating a 1x1 image file served by a generic handler
Wouldnt this image be cached on client side and you would only count the first request??

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I'm sure the performance difference wouldn't be that noticeable, but I wanted to avoid it if possible.
AlexeiXX3 wrote: Wouldnt this image be cached on client side and you would only count the first request??
It shouldn't be as long as the response headers are set appropriately.

I really hope that somebody out there reads this and responds. I'm having a real nightmare here and just to top it off Im not even a seasoned developer!
I am trying to create a treeview that will display multiple levels of users (a network marketing program).
I have an MS-Access table containing:
memberid (unique)
membersponsor
membername
imagetodisplay (contains a url to an image of the level of the user in the program ie junior, senior etc)
At some stage (before .net) it was possible to use this structure because you simply told the application the node id where to wanted to insert the record but now it seems this is not the case. I am firstly told that this is not hierachical data (which, if you take the sponsor / memberid into account, it actually is).
Some sponsors have no members under them while some have hundreds. How do I get this into a form that a treeview will recognise? All I want to do is display the membername and the image.
I am using vb.net on visual studio 2005. The treeview is residing on an .aspx page (if that makes any difference)
I have found various references on this site about first writing to a dataset and then using various classes to do this but even if I download the code and just change the dataset it doesn't work. I think this has something to do with the fact that the sample was written for only two levels whilst mine may have numerous levels deep.
PLEASE can somebody help.
Thanks
Steve

If you may have many levels, you need to do it recursivelly
