So do it, why would anyone else be interested.
Oh, I get it. What you really want is somebody else to do it for you.
Tough. Try rentacoder.com, where you pay to get software written

Im making a program where you can draw and it send the information to that same program on a different PC across the network and vice versa. Basically, a networked version of MS Paint.
Im drawing like this: onmousemove im drawing an ellipsis. Which create the illusion of a line when you drag across(lots of little circes together). And ever time you move the mouse(every time it draws a single elipsis i make it connect and send the X and Y of the mouse. This is in its own thread. Now obviously this is a terribly inefficient way. What way should I use?
p.s. heres my current client code:
ASCIIEncoding ASCII = new ASCIIEncoding();
Byte[] sendStream = new Byte[256];
TcpClient client = new TcpClient(ipTxtBx.Text, 1234);
Stream my = client.GetStream();
sendStream = ASCII.GetBytes(params4Threads);
my.Write(sendStream, 0, sendStream.Length);
Thanks alot

I wrote a simple program to replace iTunes and Zune software for personal use only. I run this program on 3 computers, my laptop, desktop, and a computer at home.
I have a server setup that I want to store all my music and then have these different locations sync with.
Here is the problem:
I use all locations and put music on each computer, depending on where I am at.
I want to be able to add a song on my laptop, and different song on my desktop, and then when they sync, all 3 locations have the 2 new songs.
I am using an XML file for the song data on each computer, so here is what I was thinking. Add a new field called last sync (or something of the sort). Then when each computer syncs, it gets songs added after last sync, and adds song that have been added since.
Now I am pretty sure that will work fine, but any opinions on a better way, improvements, and/or issues with this design?
Any and all help is welcomed, and thank you for your time. Keep in mind I am not asking for the code on how to do this, just help with design patterns/ideas.

When I'm using the following code, everything is Okay.
DateTime startDate = DateTime.Parse("05/01/2007");
DateTime endDate = DateTime.Parse("06/01/2007");
But when I try to pass the date value directly from the text box, it gives me error.
How can I pass the date directly into the code from textbox. Any suggestions.
Thanks

DateTime startDate = DateTime.Parse(textBox.Text);
If that doesn't work, what's the error
|
|
|
|
|
It gives me a compile error : 'System.DateTime' does not contain a definition for 'Text'

|

Eh? This would say that you were using the DateTime and not the TextBox.

With the code I posted??? I think that you have mismatched parenthesis or something else. Could you post your code that generates the error

Try putting the value from the textbox into a temporary variable and see what it is by debugging your application. Also, try to read the exception that has been thrown to see what it is.

This was exactly what I tried b4 posting. I stored the value from textbox into a String variable and then Parsed it into DateTime as it's shown in the code.
But all this time I was getting errors b'coz the name of my Textbox was same as that of the variable I used for used for storing the date.
So, I changed the variable name and its UP and RUNNING.
Thanks a lot to everyone

I have a program that creates and edits Microsoft Word documents. It was created with Microsoft Word 12.0 Object Library -- I had MS Office 2007 installed. I built it and it worked great on my computer. I took it to another computer (one that had MS Office 2003 installed) and it crashes when I tell the program to create the Word document.
This is the error I get (in the Details section):
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
File name: 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c'
Is there a way to make sure the program can be backward and forward compatible with regard to versions of Microsoft Word?
Thanks.

Well until you get that file installed on that computer to eliminate that error you don't even know if you have a compatibility problem.

Clarification: "took it to another computer" means installed it onto another computer.
Jeez, if you don't know what's wrong don't bother replying.
