Hi Blue Boy,
You need to use Messaging API (CE MAPI) which is COM-based to access the Inbox. That means you need some knowledge on COM Interop in order to use it in the .NET Compact Framework (or in C#).
Messaging API (CE MAPI)

Does somebody know how to show/hide the 'wait cursor' for WM 5.0 or above?
I'm writing in VS 2005 C++ 'native code', but code should be enough.
|
|
|
|
|
In C# it is like this
you need to import System.Windows.Forms namespace
Cursor.Current = Cursors.WaitCursor;

Hi,
private DoProcess()
{
Cursor.Current = Cursors.WaitCursor;
Cursor.Current = Cursors.Default;

I just bought a Windows Mobile phone,and I want to add a application to my phone to do such a small thing: When the others phone in, my phone would play a MP3 in my phone to the caller automaticly until i answer it.
Now my trouble is: how to play the mp3 to the caller not to the Loudspeakers of my phone.
thanks a lot.

|
|
|

I'm quite sure, that playing anything to the caller before you receive the call is a service of your mobile operator and you can't handle it from your phone.

sorry,i clear my point again ,before i came to the phone,it had answered the calling automaticly .That is to say my trouble is how to change the output channel of my music.

ok, that clears it. Can't help. The operator will like you, the callers less.

what language/tools are you willing to use, native C++ or Managed code C#?
in both cases all you need to do is download and install the Windows Mobile 6 SDK.
Once you've install it you'll find a specific sample that demostrates how to intercept sms and send sms:
For Managed C#:
<wm6 install="" dir="">\Windows Mobile 6 SDK\Samples\Smartphone\CS\SmsIM
For native C++:
<wm6 install="" dir="">\Windows Mobile 6 SDK\Samples\Smartphone\cpp\Win32\SIMMgr
Good luck !

I have written a mobile 6 application that encrypts SMS traffic it sends and
decrypts traffic it receives. I need to test the application but the
cellular emulator is letting me down. It will not accept strings that I
past into the (send) text box with out changing them when I send the
encrypted string. There is also no provision with the cellular emulator to
open a file and send the contents (which would be real nice).
I am wondering how I can test application since cellular emulator is not up
to the job?
I have also tried setting up the cellular emulator to send messages back to the device emulator according to the article[^] but this does not seem to work in mobile 6 (artlcle was for mobile 2003)
Thanks,
MrPlankton

I apologize for the repost, I originally posted the following question in mid August, when (probably) most of you were in vacation
Hi,
I developped a small app using VisualStudio 2005, CF 2.0 C# that targets the Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional operating system.
It tries to send sms in 2 different ways:
Direct:
string NumTelefono = textBox1.Text;
string Messaggio = textBox2.Text;
if (Messaggio.Length > 255)
Messaggio = Messaggio.Substring(0, 255);
SmsMessage sendMsg = new SmsMessage();
Recipient recpt = new Recipient(NumTelefono);
sendMsg.Body = Messaggio;
sendMsg.To.Add(recpt);
sendMsg.RequestDeliveryReport = true;
sendMsg.Send();
Using Pocket Outlook:
string NumTelefono = textBox1.Text;
string Messaggio = textBox2.Text;
if (Messaggio.Length > 255)
Messaggio = Messaggio.Substring(0, 255);
using (OutlookSession session = new OutlookSession())
{
SmsAccount smsAccount = session.SmsAccount;
SmsMessage smsMessage2 = new SmsMessage(NumTelefono, Messaggio);
smsAccount.Send(smsMessage2);
}
I tried both with the emulator and a real device, the sms gets sent but it's not stored in the "SMS\Sent Items".
Is there a way to implement such functionality ?
Ciao

Hi all,
I have created an application to send and recieve a particular type of message, now when the message comes in, the application grabs the message and show it on the screen, but when we switch of the phone and switch it on again, the message starts coming in before the application starts and goes directly to the PDA/Phone inbox.
My problem is to read messages from PDA/Smartphone inbox.
I am using C#.Net 2.0, Compact Framework 2.0 and Windows mobile 6 SDK
Please let me know if there is some way to grab those messages.
Thanks in advance
