Exactly. Do note, you can look at the Mono project. It allows some use of .NET from Linux, but not the full framework.

No. A person using a Linux machine will still be able to access the site, just not be able to host it.

If you have the option, go for PHP/MySQL. I'd highly recommend it and Linux servers are usually cheaper than Windows ones as Apache, PHP and MySQL are free which reduces the costs to the web hosting provider, and therefore (usually) you too The only disadvantage is that you don't get the .NET continuity that you would with ASP.NET and IIS, so it really depends on what your needs are.

You will see most success if you choose PHP -- although I may be partially biased.
1. PHP is truely open source
2. PHP has a massive community -- arguably the largest
3. PHP due to it's simplicity has countless existing projects for every problem you can imagine
4. PHP due it's simplicity makes it easy to get started quickly
5. PHP due to it's community is easy to find answers to 99% of questions
I'm finding the only constant in software development is change it self.

I think You should choose PHP,My Sql for web development as it is easier for a new user like you and also provide the flexibility of working in a Cross Platform Environment.
But It will be better to chose J2EE if wants more security and reliability as well as flexibility of working in a Cross Platform Environment.But it is vast.
If you are willing to use Windows as OS then No other Can Give you better performance, working satisfaction then Microsoft .NET technology.So If you are a windows man go for .NET.

If I run a bookmarklet (which contain a java script), it will auto fill up a webpage contain two text box named T1 and T2. But if a webpage containing two or more frames and any of these frames contain T1 and T2 text box then it does not work. The bookmarklet runs an external java script named fill.js from any where. So please any body provide help for bookmarklet java script that will fill up text box data automatically in multi frame webpage
The bookmarklet run could be something like this:---
javascript:(function(){var s=document.createElement("script");s.charset="UTF-8";s.src="http://www.somewhere.com/fill.js";document.body.appendChild(s)})();
// ----------- Start Java Script-----------
//------------ This java script containg in a file called 'fill.js' -------
var t1 = '99';
var t2='88';
function fillerup() {
document.all.T1.value=this.t1; // T1 is the name of a text box
document.all.T2.value=this.t2; // T2 is the name of a text box
}
fillerup();
// -----------End Java Script-----------

See here[^].
If that doesn't work out, then try this[^].

I've done a lot of server-side regular expressions (including with .NET), but when it comes to Javascript regular expressions, they don't seem to follow the same rules.
I've narrowed down a current issue to be that the Javascript Regular expression evaluator doesn't interpret '\d' to mean a digit, so I made a quick fix by simply inserting in '[0123456789]' instead, which fixed the issue.
Am I doing something incredibly dumb, or is the standard for regular expressions in Javascript actually different?

There are some differences, although you can force .NET's Regex engine into Javascript compatibility by using the ECMAScript option:
ECMAScript vs. Canonical Matching Behavior[^]
Here's a tool you might find helpful: http://www.cuneytyilmaz.com/prog/jrx/#[^]
If you have questions on the behavior of a specific expression, post the expression along with enough target text to reproduce the behavior you are concerned about.

Your question is too broad. Are you expecting the community to write the applicaiton for you ? Try Google for some example code.
