Thanks Dushan,
I know that it's possible to introduce a C# or C++ routine in a VB-written application, but before I'll must learn how to do it.
Now I know what is UniqueID, but I not undestood yet in which way to read it can protect the software from unauthorized use.
The code can be modified depending on UniqueID of device?

Hello there.
Im trying to compile a program for a Casio DT-X10 device. I have installed the DT-X10 SDK, but every time I select it in embedded visual c++ 4.0, it (the program) collapses and stop working, so I have to close it and open it again.
Ive proved usind the standardSDK, but it dont compile (it says that I need to install the correct SDK ._.). The archive I installed was "DT-X10_SDK.msi". Is that the correct one, isnt it? Maybe I have it installed in the wrong folder? But its not that the program doesnt recognize the SDK, its that it blocks permanently when I select it (DT-X10).
Thanks a lot in advance

Hi, i'm developing a Pocket PC Application. I am working on security issues, so i was wondering if there is any way to modify the connection string: adding the ip of the server instead of the server name.
The application is working with this string:
String RDAOleBDConnectionString = "Provider=SQLOLEDB;Data Source=" + NombreServidor + "," + Puerto + ";Integrated Security=SSPI;Initial Catalog =" + NombreBD + ";";
to something like this:
Data Source=190.190.200.100,1433;Network Library=DBMSSOCN;Initial Catalog=myDataBase;User ID=myUsername;Password=myPassword;
i tried to use the last one but i got errors about the provider.
thanks for any help

Hello All,
Currently I get whole mobile socrce code developeed for English. I want to make a sepeate image for a new language, apart from default supported 20 languages by Microsoft.
For our applications, I can get .rc file and add string table for new language and I am able to display the applications in local language what I need.
But for OS applications, menus and error messages, I am not sure how to proceed. Can any one help me to give a artcile or book reference how to localize the whole mobile and not single application.
Thanks and Regards

I know only this way: Your application would must send a keystroke every 30 seconds which makes the operating system think it is being used. This does not stop the screen from auto dimming - this must be set in the CE device System configuration.
I have actually installed an application provided of this feature.
I hope this help you.

http://www.codeproject.com/KB/mobile/WiMoPower1.aspx
Search for "Don't let the device sleep."
In short you need to call SystemIdleTimerReset() every so often. the exact rate at which you need to call it will vary based on device settings. There is an example program in this article that will show you how to do it.

Hi, i've been looking arround the forum for an answer. well i'm using the kacommon dll from Alex Kwok and i have a little problem. There are some FTP that i won't access no matter what. the problem seems to be when listing the directory content. but i'm not really sure. Has anyone used this component and had a similar problem?
Some Specs for reference:
i dooing an aplicaction for a PockePc with WM6.0, connected via GPRS and it works fine with most FTP servers, but some simple wont acept connection, i think it has something to do with the file sistem on the server, but when i cloned a non-working-with-my-app FTP site, to a Previously-Working-with-my-app FTP Site it didnt work ether, the funny thing is that the non-working-with-my-app site was a clone of the previously-working-with-my-app FTP site. and now none of them works, no funny filenames, or strange symbols nether.
Please help if you can.
Thanks
Black.

hi, i want some code or tutorials specifying how to use bluetooth in mobile for serial communication.
i.e i dont want it use as obex, RFCOMM, L2cap only as com port cant it be if so how is to do..
|
|
|
|
|
Programing Bluetooth for serial communication is as any regular serial communication. The difference is the port you specify must be a bluetooth one.
If you want to use WinAPI, I suggest to check C++ articles on that topic. Recently I saw a very good article on codeproject, but can't locate it. now.
If you are using C#, I'm sure there are components for serial components that will do the job for you.

Please sent me a way to print text using bluetooth printer
ssss

Printing is not supported in Windows Mobile. However this doesn't mean it is impossible.
Here is general plan:
1. Make communication with the printer.
2. Send commands to the printer, so it can print whatever you desire.
First part is pretty much standard and easy. The communication trough bluetooth is usually done as communication trough serial port. Probably sounds a little bit scary, but my routine is around 10 lines of code (just plain API).
The second part is a little bit tricky. It is printer-dependent. Also you need to know at least one of the ways to command the printer.
The easiest way is to learn some of the printer languages- EPL, CPCL, ZPL, ... EPL would be probably the preferred, because it is supported by almost every printer. Personally I prefer CPCL - it is like writing a script.
Most printer support 'Line Mode' - you send them just the text and it prints like in DOS times. However, you should check the manual how to set it up.
P.S. One con about printing with Mobile is that it is quite printer-dependent. If your client have a different one, you will probably need to change the print routine.

There is no easy way
Anyway, the idea is simple:
You make a connection to the printer trough bluetooth serial communication.
With the connection you send commands to the printer (what to print). This can be done trough a printer language or in 'line mode' (like 'print' in C)
Quite simple

I don't mean easy way. I mean please explain it more deaply pal. Because I have no idea of Serial communication and printer languages

If this can help you, you must imagine the printing from a device using a bluetooth connected printer as to send an SMS through a bluetooth connected cellular.
If to send SMS through a bluetooth connected cellular, the device must send "AT Commands" and the text of SMS to the telephone, to print is necessary to send "ESCAPE Commands" and the text to print to the printer.
How already suggested you, the first step is to establish a bluetooth connection.

Hi akirilov,
I am very interested in your routine to establish a bluetooth connection.
In particular if it is in VB-Compact Framework (Windows Mobile 2003 SE compatible), and if it supports Widcomm (not Microsoft) bluetooth stack ....
