Cant you guys detect if there's any code present in a message and then check if its in either pre or code tags, then moan at the poster if not?
Its so irritating to read non-indented code, and i think its because the newbies don't know any better.
You could maybe have a list of keywords to compare the message to(perhaps even a list per language/forum), and then if no tags prompt the user with a small example?

Apparently, there are people who will post a question without subject[^] and that makes it kinda hard to open the message, I have to navigate to it through the keyboard and all.
The post must be validated to have a subject while submitting.

Some ads shown in the left side menu is having width around 500px which is giving the homepage a weird look (e.g Softlayer). Please keep some check before displaying such ads in left area (Instead it can be placed on top)

It's old news. I'm sure Chris will take care of it when he gets back.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The offending banner has been disposed of. All involved have been made aware of the error.

The forums would be much tidier if they didn't display any threads consisting entirely of "Message automatically removed" messages.
Oh yes, and the front page summary of the lounge could do with a similar filter.

[Edit]Just seen Giorgi's report on the next page - apologies![/Edit]
Example[^]
Quotation marks (only when inside pre tags) are displaying as & q u o t ; (spaces added to make html safe!).
The html is being set to
& a m p ; & q u o t ;
I've tried editing the source html to " and & q u o t but the same html is always produced.
It seems to work OK here though.

I do have to agree that a remove account button would be useful, but

You need to keep in mind that the email address is different for all CodeProject accounts (I believe), so you should be able to just use the correct email when logging in.

I suspect that it has more to do with referential integrity. If you delete an account, then shouldn't the messages go with it? What happens to threads then? Things are bad enough with people deleting messages, without making it worse.

So make the username/password columns of the table optional. Then null them to delete the account.

Simplest thing is to not ever use the account again. I have an old one from 7 years ago that I lost the login info for, and it doesn't hurt anything.

I've written a total of 4 articles...from which two are for java...
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/IP/gzTx.aspx
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/java/Shove.aspx
These don't show up in "My Article" list...(even if i'm in the "Java" section)
my other two C++ Articles, do figure in the "My Articles" List...
Is this Normal? i sure hope not...

I'm Sorry, But it's Not...
When i'm in the C++ Section, i can see atleast my 2 C++ articles...
if i go into the Java Section, and hit "my articles" i see zero articles...Just the search bar and an ad...nothing inbetween...
I could post a scrnshot if you want?

The temporary workaround most of us use is to use one password for CP (that we will not use anywhere else). That way even if it's compromised other accounts remain safe. You could do that too.
Chris did mention that he might change this behavior in future.
