can you post your code + the error you're getting?
and...are you using a stored procedure? or insert statement directly?
if it was the case, put your stored procedure

Check the Connection String, is UserInstance set to True ?
This may be the problem.
Google for an explanation.

This could be a very silly question, but here goes:
Our server is going to be down all weekend because of certain reasons.
Is there a way to move a sql server database onto a local machine?
thanks
The answers posted by me are suggestions only and cannot be used in anyway against me.

Detach/Attach. That'll be the least of your problems however. The real part is to migrate your applications/users to point to the local server until the main one is up.

As the previous post
Detach database
Copy DB files to your local machine
Atach those files
And change the connectionstring to point to the sqlserver instance in your local machine. I hope you are using connectionstrings from a web.config file (for web app) or saved the connectionstrings as a resource (for win app), Otherwise...too bad

listen, use this way instead
use function month()
declare @mydate smalldatetime
set @mydate = '1-6-2005'
select month(@mymonth)
if you run that you get 1
So, code like this:
if month(mydate) <> 8
begin
...
end

Authorisation and authentication

By default, you can't do anything in the database unless you have the permissions to do so.
May be you need to get some introductory knowledge on SQL Server, in which case, get a book.

Hello Friends,
I have got a requirement in which I have an Excel Workbook (latest version) as my source and SQL Server table as my destination. The scenario is that I have similar column names in both - source and destination.
So, now what I have to achieve is, if I insert some value in my excel sheet, then it should get updated in the SQL Server destination table. I have to avoid using SSIS for this.
I am not even sure if there is anyway to do this. I am researching on it and I would appreciate your help if you can also let me know your ideas.
Thank you,

I suggest you use VBA to move the data to SQL. Probably fired by a button on your form.
