Yep, write a search engine. Maybe if you ask Google nicely they will let you have the code for theirs?

Silverlight 2 will be rolled out tomorrow. Silverlight 2 goes beyond the media-centered Web user interface that came out in the first version. Silverlight 2 includes a subset of the .NET Framework and allows ISVs to build rich Internet applications (RIA) using .NET.
Developers and designers collaborate to build .NET client Web applications. Silverlight 2 supports new programming languages like C#, Python, and Ruby. You can call Web services and Atom endpoints to support componentized Web applications.
Automatic updates are due in the next few weeks. Businesses will be able to control those updates. Silverlight will run in Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer on Windows and Mac OS. Novell is working on a version for Linux.
The technology will be available for download on Oct. 14 at www.microsoft.com/silverlight.
Microsoft estimates that one in four computers users have access to Silverlight.
Tools Support
The release is accompanied by development and design tools that will work with Visual Studio 2008, the free Visual Studio Web Developer Express, and Expression Blend and will include features like common controls.
Microsoft also announces funding for an open-source project to create an Eclipse plug-in for Silverlight. Microsoft is funding Soyatec, a French based IT solutions provider. The plans are for release the project under the Eclipse Public License Version 1.0 on SourceForge and submit it to the Eclipse Foundation as an open Eclipse project. A technical preview is available on Eclipse Tools for Silverlight.
Silverlight Control Pack
Microsoft is also releasing for free a set of programming templates called the Silverlight Control Pack (SCP) under the Microsoft Permissive License. The SCP includes controls such as DockPanel, ViewBox, TreeView, Accordion and AutoComplete.
XAML
The technical specification for Silverlight's Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML) is also being released under the Open Specification Promise.

Hi
I have the below script
When I use the xml.load method it is always shows Response Code as "200"
However the Content expiration is set to 2 days.
My Question is how to force the script to use the cached xml file when the file is in the cache?
Tested in MSIE 7.0
if(document.all)
var xml = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM");
else
var xml = document.implementation.createDocument("", "", null);
var xmlObj;
function verify()
{
if (xml.readyState != 4)
return false;
}
function loadXML()
{
xml.async=false;
xml.onreadystatechange=verify;
xml.load("http://"+document.location.host+"/xmlstore/test.xml");
}
function createDocument()
{
xmlObj=xml.documentElement;
}
//loadXML()
//createDocument()
//alert(xmlObj)

Hi All,
I am displaying a anchor tag in a table which is created dynamically using Javascript.
Below is the code for it.
var EmpID = "E000011";
.
.
.
.
Td = document.createElement("td");
var anchorTag = document.createElement("a");
anchorTag.setAttribute("innerHTML",EmpID);
anchorTag.setAttribute("href","example.html?EmpID="+numEmpID);
Td.appendChild(anchorTag);
Tr.appendChild(Td);
.
.
.
.
This is working well in IE. Coming to Firefox the link button itself is not getting display.
Can anyone help me out????????
Thanks,

Hi,
Try :
anchorTag.innerHTML = EmpID;
instead of :
anchorTag.setAttribute("innerHTML",EmpID);

Thanks for the answer.....We have already done with that

Hi,
In the app that I'm working on, the users always need to log-in after being idle for a certain amount of time. My understanding is that this happens because of the <sessionstate timeout="20"> set in the web.config file.
Is there a way to change this so that the user's credentials will only expire when the browser is closed? Do I just set timeout to 0?
Thanks.

No.
You can indeed set the timeout in web.config - but not to 0. The setting there is in minutes. Increase it as you will, but a note of caution: the higher the number, the higher the memory requirements you're putting on your server. In today's world that's probably not something you need to worry about too much unless your site is quite busy...

I see, but is this something that I would want to do? I mean... I only want the session to live as long as the browser is open. If I set the timeout to a higher number, the session will persist even if the browser was closed and reopend right?
And should the sessions really be on the server side? (It's been quite a while since I haven't developed a web app, years ago, sessions used to be on the client side, residing on the browser)

Read the link I gave - it explains the Session Object in some detail. But the whole point of having a Session Object is to maintain a link between the client and the server, otherwise a server has no way of telling any particular browser's request from anyone else's. In effect, Session variables are cookies (that expire when the browser closes...) sent back to the server on each page request - and the server keeps a record to match against them, but expires this after the Session Timeout period (to avoid an ever increasing drain on resources.)
This is why, if you wait too long between page requests, although your "session cookie" gets sent to the server, it can no longer match it and so tells you your session has expired. And if you close your browser down, of course, your sessins cookies are lost anyway and so can't be sent back to the server on your next request.

I didn't notice the link. Thanks! This is very helpful.
