hello everyone..
please help me about this.
I have an application that requires cv loader... For example, I have a resume (in any format, txt or doc file), then when I upload it using vb/asp apllication or in any language and i need to get the name, address and contact number of the person that will be saved in an oracle database...
Is there someone who can give me some hint in creating this functionality
thanks in advance.

Please don't cross post. If your question isn't language specific, you should not post it in the language specific forums.
Despite everything, the person most likely to be fooling you next is yourself.

Try Google, Microsoft, or even VS Help - they all have sample code.

Hi all,
If I upload a file containing SMO Reference the following error comes:
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
The references I added are
Microsoft.sqlserver.connectioninfo
Microsoft.sqlserver.smo
Microsoft.sqlserver.smoenum
Microsoft.sqlserver.sqlenum
Is I have to explicitly place the SMO dll in the bin folder of the project? Please help me to rectify this problem.
Thanks.

Hi,
seems like you have to place them explicitly in the bin folder of the project (after upload). Are you sure that the Microsoft SQL Managment Objects are installed at the target server?

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply.
I don't know whether the target server contains SMO. If we install SMO dll in the target server, will it work well?. If we do like that there is no need to add the dll in the project. Am I right?

hmmm, if you install the smo dll in the target server (for example registering in the GAC) you don't have to copy the dll to the bin folder (think this only works if it is the correct assembly version)...
I think the best way is to install the SQL Server Managament (that's where the dll is coming from, am I right?). This will propably solve your problem (but you have the same problem for the next server...)

Are you going to deploy on that system ? or you want to development application.
AJAX is nothing to do with IIS.
if you are going to deploy , you can do one thing, just run aspnet_regiis -i command from VS Command Prompt. Hope this will resolve your problem

Hello Guys, For past 7 years I had been a Java programmer and recently had to shift to ASP.NET due to some reasons. After fiddling around with web forms for a while (including ASP.NET AJAX and AJAXControlToolkit), i figured out the server controls and their properties are just not enough for the kind of enterprise web apps i am building (currently working on ERP). Then I spent some time on net searching for an alternative, then thought my good old Dojo or ExtJS are better than asp.net controls in every respect. They are light weight, customizable, robust and nice looking. Its far better to use Prototype (or some method of JSON-RPC like JayRock). I realized everything which I can do with the ASP.NET can also be done by javascript UIs (the grid which comes with ExtJs is one of the best I have seen till date). And I am almost on the verge of finalizing to use Javascript/DHTML frontend on ASP.NET forms. I will use JSON-RPC for server calls. But thought it's better to have some suggestions from you Gurus before taking a plunge. Does anybody has anything to say? will appreciate a lot. . Thanks for reading the big post.

I think you should probably think of the poor programmer who comes after you, ostensibly applying for an ASP.net job, and finding themselves dealing with a god awful mess of Java/AJAX/.net.
If you're going to go down this road, you're probably better just using Java straight off...

That's the point Paddy, i can not imagin server side processing without c# and state management without ASP.NET. But I am just talking about the UI part, most of which can be automatically generated for a product like ERP (mostly CRUD). So complexity of javascript isn't as issue. What say?

ASP.NET AJAX toolkit is an opensource project hosted on Codeplex. So you are always allowed to get the source and modify accordingly.

Looks like you are confused with what ASP.NET does and what javascript. You can do whatever ASP.NET does using JS.
